In both Oprah and the Netflix doc, Harry and Meghan blamed the royal family for her “losing” her father. Harry specifically said in Netflix that if she hadn’t married into the RF, she wouldn’t have lost him. She laid blame at the door of the RF for her own decision to distance herself from an alleged paedophile. Nobody would blame her for their estrangement on this basis, but to allege it was for other reasons and actually lay blame in this way is absolutely unforgivable.

Who made The Sun aware of the existence of this 8 year old letter, at the exact moment that Harry was getting flack for telling the royal family to let it go and reconcile but not saying the same to the Markles?

I don't believe it happened, because giving her the original to copy would break the evidential chain and could make the letter inadmissible in court. It's possible the police gave her a copy, but again, that's really dodgy. At best she would've been told about it.

No they haven't. BBC news online says the Met are investigating reports of a letter and 'undertaking enquiries internally to confirm this'. So no confirmation yet of its existence.

They haven't confirmed receiving the letter at all.

What they've said is they are "aware of media reports that officers from the Met's Royalty and Specialist Protection Command were involved in the passing on of a letter in 2018. We are undertaking inquiries internally in an effort to confirm this."

So, if M did get show it by officers appointed to protect them in 2018, it will be a case of those officers being questioned about it. For her sake, she's got to hope they confirm it.

Looks like that copy of the letter needs to come out and be carefully examined.

It is for this reason and the disusting theories say they are colluding together and caused this why I am not coming back to thsi board. The fact people are still picking apart a woman because of a statement whilst saying why didn't she saying back then oh but now she has why did she and she engineered this. Its just beyond disgusting now and I don't want to be around people who actually think like this. Let's face it if it was their Dad or child who was accused of doing something heinous not a single one of them would be running around telling the press or anyone else to protect others until it was proven it was true. Yet they are hear holding someone to some greater standard and you just know if this was anyone else their reaction wold be the complete opposite.

Amazing how, despite various house moves since 2018, she's able to put her hand straight on the letter to show it to several people within about 24 hours of the news story being released.
She must have brought it with her to the Uk rather than leaving it behind in the US.

She may be reffering to the Profumo scandal but the two "good time girls" were 18 and 19 at that time. Sleazy behaviour nevertheless.

It would take an unbelievable level of audacity for Meghan to invent a fictional letter though, and show a copy of it to the press. If she was found to be lying about that there would be no coming back.

I realise I may sound very naive for saying this but, as M found out about this between her marriage and the move abroad, why didn't H&M just settle down quietly in Canada and lead a quiet life? They would have had sufficient funds at that point to buy a naice property and lifestyle and would have been in a better position to deal with the TM story when it inevitably broke. They could have maintained a relationship with members of the RF and received help & support when needed

But no, they had to sell their story, start hair-brained money-making schemes, constantly appear in public even if the press coverage was negative and air their views on anything and everything. They have well and truly shot themselves in the foot and lost public sympathy. Even if the latest story hadn't happened, I don't believe they could ever lead the sort of lives they were expecting to when they returned to the UK

I think it’s probably a picture taken with her phone. It would have been very easy to snatch a picture of the letter and not be noticed but going away into another room in order to scan one on a copier or printer would be a different matter.
