I believe it's entirely within the realm of possibilities that at some point, maybe not this year, both the Wales and the Sussexes will attend the Christmas service. It would give the Royal lip readers and body language experts (aka the charlatans) a field day, not to mention the tabloids but William and Catherine are mature adults with a place in society that means they know how to be polite to difficult people. It would show nothing about actual family relatiinships but would be the right PR move for the monarchy. If Catherine can wrangle Trump, anyone else is a piece of cake. Sometimes they have to put duty ahead of personal feeling and it may be that this will be necessary.

I want Catherine to give Meghan her glorious smile, hold out her hand to shake and say “And what do you do”.

Joy.

Americans fell out of love after Meghan and Harry dished the dirt

Oh and another point from the last thread - a poster mentioned the rumour of Archewell finances being investigated being a possible driver for the fox running home with his tail between his legs.

If that's the case, it's long overdue.

Does anyone know what happened to the money from the Archewell Foundation? There was around $8 (?) million in the accounts published last December when they closed the Foundation and it was meant to be transferred to the new organisation but since then it has been crickets 🦗

There were criticisms about the ack of transparency from Charity Watch
https://blog.charitywatch.org/archewell-philanthropies-new-name-same-old-transparency-problems/

There was a rumour circulating a few months ago that the (tax?) authorities were looking into irregularities and that the transfer to Archewell Philanthropies had not been completed.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s return could be short-lived

We can only wish.ETA let's hope it comes with an NDA.

Edited

Why would you wish for a couple to split up and a mother to leave her children behind in another country? Those children are innocent and don't deserve that.

What the world needs is less testosterone?

H has already been helping in that regard hasn’t he?

He’s been trying to tweak it out of men’s nipples for decades.

After KC goes I think it's time to plan phasing the RF out in its current form.

altesse · Yesterday 21:56

Oh I don’t know.

A selective snip or three would be fine.

So they are actually fleeing America, rather than making a planned return to the UK.

Harry and Meghan are back to shower us with more victimhood

I agree on your first point but I don't expect you'll be surprised to find we differ on the second.

If C3 and W want to show care for the less fortunate in society maybe they can start with digging deep to bring all their housing stock into line with approved standards.

I believe it's around 60% currently falling short but happy to be corrected.

Don't they have until 2030 to be compliant?

Fromhere1 · Yesterday 22:05

I find it very hard to believe that Meghan would leave the children in the UK and spend a lot of her time away at their 'international bases'... Something does not add up.

So they are actually fleeing America, rather than making a planned return to the UK.

So they think it's fine to just drag their children around different countries and houses, not to mention schools?

This is very bizarre. As Ever is on it's arse. I could understand it if she was a CEO of a huge organisation or something but she isn't. A mother wouldn't leave her young children to settle into a new continent especially with a hapless father.

I can attest to that. My own parents were very much like HAM (minus the wealth)

Starryfifty · Yesterday 22:16

Cismyfatarse · Yesterday 21:41

They cannot uproot small children like that. Unless the children are boarding?

EmpressSisi · Yesterday 22:21

Cismyfatarse · Yesterday 21:41

That can’t be right.

I just can’t imagine they’d be willing to keep uprooting their children every couple of months or years, especially once they’re settled into school. I already think it’s cruel to uproot them now, when they have friends, Granny Doria, clubs, activities, playdates and a whole life in California. I can understand the argument that children are resilient and, if it were a permanent move, they’d eventually make new friends and build a new life. But repeatedly uprooting them simply because their parents can’t seem to settle feels incredibly unfair to the children.

Unless they’re planning to leave them at boarding school, which I can’t imagine H&M would be that callous to do while they’re still so young. And I certainly can’t see Charles being willing to act as their legal guardian in the UK while their parents swan off around the Commonwealth. Nor can I see Doria abandoning her own life in California to care for her grandchildren in the UK.

Something just isn’t adding up 🤔

I think they're both mature enough to deal with it. I read recently that Kate said William just goes very quiet when he's annoyed, so if he's very cross they'll just get the silent treatment and a polite greeting.
More than they deserve!

Thanks for the new thread @BigWillyLittleTodger
Been out for the day and still catching up, it's all so fast moving!.

This reminds me of a young patient when I was midwife - a teenage Mum, I asked how her parents took the news. She said when her Dad was annoyed he whistled, and he sat there whistling when she told them. I have often thought of that whistling Dad, who managed not to come out with an explosive FFS and stay loving and supportive.

Here's to silent Dad's and Whistling Dad's, all doing their best not to escalate a difficult situation. 💐💜😓

BigWillyLittleTodger · Yesterday 22:33

There are so many claims in the reports I’ve read it’s making my head spin and I’m not sure what to believe, the whole situation is just so incredibly odd, first we have the decision to move back was done on a whim after their holiday to the UK, but the Times article says it’s been planned for months, the move was for an extended period hence the children being enrolled in schools here, now it may be for six months and they may move to Australia or Canada, Meghan has a new acting role in Britain hence the big move, now there is no acting role (so why move??) Harry’s visa is the reason they’ve had to leg it or he will be in the slammer, it’s a form of separation and Meghan will be barely in the country, have I missed anything?

I actually find it easy to believe . Meghan cares about one person - Meghan .
