So are we going to have this ridiculous circus again next year at the games?

If there is one….

Given the alleged funding gap I think that is not a certainty- especially if investigative journalism is done into IG spending…

H is absolutely loathsome but it has been a pretty shit week for him. If it was my husband, other half or close friend, i'd be over in a shot, even if I didn't agree with the legal action, security kick off or whatever other shenanigans were going on. I imagine we all would.

If anything shows the world what a despicable piece of shit this woman is, it's this. H constantly defends her, supports every bullshit grift, etc. It's just a pity he can't see what a loathsome woman she is

The BBC are ridiculously sycophantic over Meghan and Harry.

It has to have been the £1million donation to Children in Need. Paid for good will.
It’s very odd he just emptied the charity’s coffers and handed it all to the BBC - at best lazy. I get that living in USA it maybe seemed appropriate to wind down the charity. But he could at least have split money to give some to WellChild and Scottie’s little children since he seems to be hanging on to those associations. I suppose he wanted the headline of a £1million donation. 🤷‍♀️

Why is that? Do you know? I'm not sure why but I always associate the BBC with being very pro monarchy 🤔

Keep up. These days they are anti monarchy. So no reporting on the good works of the King/Queen, William and Catherine or the Edinburghs or Princess Royal. But generous reporting on H&M sticks it to the others and not so subtly undermines them.

Thanks ❤️ I'm a little behind 😊😊

I really don't think it will happen tbh. HAM's PR is just going to get worse

Wasn't the charity that Harry drained to bung CiN some cash also run by William? If so, perfect for H- he gets to look generous while not spending his own money, while also fucking over his brother, who would obviously be unable to object once the donation had been publicised.

And indeed "his" donation . Which it wasn't - he said he had donated £1m or whatever it was to CiN - sounding like it was his own money . It wasn't - it was transferring donated funds from one charity to another and he took credit for it , implying he had given the money out of his own pocket. Which is egregious in my book.

If I am wrong here , please someone tell me so can retract this.

Pretty sure you're not wrong @BasiliskStare (I've only just 'got' your name!)

No - it's totally true IIRC the money came from one of Diana's charities - the Glen Beg foundation - which Harry closed down and transferred the money to CIN and claimed credit for his "personal donation" in headline grabbing press releases.

ForAmberPoster · Yesterday 21:47

I had Jeremy Vine on a few times this week as I was decorating (find him fake and smarmy so can only do small doses) and was very surprised that Harry wasn’t the topic the day after the court case. He did Trump / World Cup and Farage local election but no mention of Harry. As it was huge news I wondered why it was ignored.

Yep. True. He can show rat cunning at times

StartupRepair · Yesterday 21:51

If Meghan comes there will be teaser photos of teacups, gardens etc.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 21:53

Yes! @Lunde - I think Glen Beg was the charity . I had forgotten the name - but it was very recently he spoke about why he has donated that money ( I think it was in relation to a young people's film project ) and he definitely referred to it as if it was his own money. Which it wasn't IIRC - it was public donations to a Diana fund, as you say. Hmmmm - On the one had he could have reference his mother , on the other hand he could choose to imply he had made the donation. Stuck between Scylla and Charybdis there H. But he went for his own PR 😊

No - the money was originally from a charity foundation of Diana's. When she died, it was split into 2 foundations, one for each of the boys.

Harry's was the Glen Beg Foundation. He used the money from it to donate to Children in Need.

She'd want to get a move on, wouldn't she? I don't think Harry had planed to stay much beyond Friday, had he?

Speaking of trans Atlantic travel, I wonder if William is going to go to the England Norway match in Miami on Saturday? Or will he cross his fingers and hold out for the semi final?

I think it’s because William won’t give them the time of day, so Harry is their only source of royal stories.

On the Kelce brothers' podcast he talked about flying over if England reached the final.

Really? I would have thought he'd go if England make the semis, at the latest.

Other European royals have been seen at matches already.

The Spirit of Invictus! I wonder what routes it will be on? Seems odd he wouldn’t be there for the launch - it’s not like you rustle up a new locomotive overnight so there must have been plans for some time. I wonder how much it cost - that might make a dent in the finances.
