Haz, you’re always running here and there. You feel you’re not wanted anywhere….

I can't breathe 😂

CathyorClaire · Yesterday 21:45

Indianrollerbird · Yesterday 21:36

Since you are so fixated on the Middletons’ former business and feel the need to bring it up over multiple threads, why don’t you carry out your own research, and confirm your own insinuations in concrete terms.

Edited

Not me denying there's anything to see.

Maybe you can conduct your own research on your own insinuations and definitively prove me wrong.

BigWillyLittleTodger · Yesterday 21:50

The vow renewal will be interesting, she’s had a beach wedding, a wedding in her back yard, a spectacle wedding, what could they come up with next?

I haven’t made any insinuations, have I? I’ve described how the administration process works, and how creditors are prevented from seeking to enforce their claims while that process in in place. Insolvency is a risk of being in business, whether it’s your own insolvency or someone else’s. You are the one insinuating that the Middletons have done something nefarious, immoral or illegal. Why don’t you provide proof that this is the case since you are so fixated on it? You bring it up at any given opportunity, but you don’t seem to want to put in the work to prove your own theories.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 21:56

Well a filmed vow renewal might just get a first look from Netflix.

They need to disappear. For a few years at least. Sell home in montecito. Downsize. Enjoy their young family. They have plenty of money and their kids young enough to adapt to a new life / new surroundings

IcedPurple · Yesterday 21:58

Why are people having a detailed discussion about the Middletons' defunct business on a Sussex thread?

There's thread meandering, and there's blatant derails. This is the latter.

Exactly. There were 25,158 company insolvencies in the UK in 2023. Perhaps CathyorClaire could tell us exactly what made the demise of Party Pieces so problematic when compared to all those other cases?

The only reason Meghan is with Harry is because of what marriage gives her, if she had to live quietly with Harry that marriage would be over in a few months, she loves what Harry can provide, money, status, fame and titles not the man himself.

I think Netflix would bite their hand off. This is the sort of content they thought they were getting from the Sussexes originally. The trouble is, who would they invite? The DM article implies they have no influential friends left, so it would be a congregation of nobodies.

If they stretched it out as a reality series, running up to the wedding itself with dress buying, venue visiting, hen and stag parties etc, it might work as a low budget hit.

At least they could get rid of some flower sprinkles and use them for confetti.

I agree. I know it's a ridiculous notion that they would disappear quietly and enjoy just being a family

I remember the company; wasn't it called Party Pieces?

It wasn't a crowded market back then.
There wasn't anything else that really rivalled it at that point - possibly the party store in two towns away which might have had a better range but you couldn't guarantee what was in stock at any one time. But even that was similarly priced but you had to go and fetch it.

I remember the excitement when we discovered it when dd1 was small, from recommendations.
Almost everyone who did a party round here seemed to use it because it wasn't ridiculously expensive and there was a good selection of choice and you could get everything in the same theme easily: table cloth, plates, napkins, party bags cups and maybe party hats too.
The delicious dilemma for your child as they teetered between the pink ballet theme, or the cats or maybe the Disney princesses! Or you could mix and match and have some from each.

It was fairly standard; you ordered what you wanted, the order came with a catalogue and you took it into school and passed it to whichever parent asked first - sometimes you had two or three parents hoping to get it.

No one cared who was head of the company, and I never saw adverts; simply word of mouth.

Stop hijacking the thread!!

Who would watch marriage vow renewal?? Especially these two who are unbelievably dull

canklesmctacotits · Yesterday 22:33

Ouch: in my post above where I referenced "lunatics", I've just realised I missed out the crucial word "us" in "For those lunatics such as [US] on these threads"!! I very much class myself as one such lunatic because I'm disproportionately invested in what happens to MM - to the point of being a lunatic about it!

I don't think the dress thing was a massive set-up, in that I don't think it will have taken much more than having the idea and asking your assistant to put a call in to MM's assistant. The rest would speak for itself. It was a backyard, early evening drinks hour, not a huge shindig. I can see it. She has lorded it over so many people with that title and her expectations, pissed off so many people, used and discarded people left and right, thrown her weight around needlessly. If it's to be believed that she would text Sarandos personally because she didn't want to have to go through anyone junior to him - well, he's just looking after his team, isn't he.

They’ll hate watch it because it’s H&M; and there will probably be unintentional comedy and plenty of body language to analyse. Can you imagine the sort of vows Meghan would insist on? It would be comedy gold.

It’s an interesting comparison to make with William and Catherine, if we suddenly became a republic overnight the Wales family would do just that, disappear quietly and enjoy just being a family, Harry and Meghan? it would be the end.

"Hate watching" isn't really a thing, especially in an age when you can catch up on all the 'good bits' on social media within hours, without having to sit through the whole thing. We saw that with the lacklustre viewing figures for Meghan's lifestyle show.

Plus a vow renewal would be a one off, and NF isn't really interested in that sort of programming. They make money from subscriptions, not 'pay per view'. They want content that gets people renewing their subscriptions, not 'hate watching' blips.

Good point. I can't really the W&C doing faux royal tours, selling their clothes and posting weird teaser shots of the kids, however hard up they were.

Which is why I said turn it into a reality series running up to the renewal. Why do people watch utter crap like MAFS, the programme about choosing the dress and the like? Some people like watching vacuous rubbish. Weddings and the drama they entail seem to attract viewers. Add in two controversial “royals” negotiating the process, and possibly showing themselves up/letting slip a few relationship secrets, and you have something that will probably attract a distributor like Netflix.

Lunde · Yesterday 23:22

Is the "vow renewal" an idea for a TV special that they're hoping Netflix will pay for?

BigWillyLittleTodger · Yesterday 23:51

Would Harry actually go along with it? Surely even though he is Meghan’s handbag he would be utterly mortified at what they had been reduced to?

He really is a silly boy. Throwing all that away.
I just read on X that Meghan is planning on her H renewing their vows. I do hope it is true!

Why? Vows are made for life, there's no need to renew.
