The only other outlets who have picked up the story are the Times and Hello.

Here is the Times article (shared from another thread). It points out that Sentebale was being funded by a third party for the legal case, and has asked both sides for comment.

The problem I have now with all the MSM royal rota etc, they have apparently signed a 3 page contract with hams, so I am not sure I can trust much of what is printed unless direct from sentabale or SC. The article in the telegraph seems a little too weighted in hams favour, h being the hero of the piece, especially suggesting that the charity can't afford to go to court when it was widely reported it was being financed by a 3rd party.
Journalism has been replaced by clicks. I can deff see charity accepting a large pay off but I don't believe for a min SC started this without the evidence to back it up. Unlike h I doubt she is basing her evidence on feelings but emails, txt, letters, sm etc however she is smart enough to take a good deal, she is after all a corporate lawyer.

This is interesting. Please could you give me a source for your info about the 3 page agreement?

I thought it only referred to their public visits and coverage of those? Or is that incorrect?

The BBC (eg Daniela Relph) shouldn’t be signing any reporting agreements. It’s a conflict of interest. Look at the trouble the BBC is currently in over the civil service ‘fact checkers’ and interns.

This is a pretty good price by Michele Marra about Sentebale, Invictus, finances and Harry the Patron.

I agree with this observation:

It seems to me and many others that modern mainstream royal reporting appears to hype certain narratives that us independents are pushing back on with documents, evidence and challenging the context that may be missing or omitted.

As I understand it, @binkie163, the issue with the contract does not apply to 'all the MSM royal rota', but those who have decided to sign a contract with the Sussexes.

We know, because they told us, that the Sussexes intend to set up their own version of the 'Royal rota', the press rota that is given information about royal events.
We also know that there is a Sussex PR WhatsApp group, run by Liam Maguire, their PR lead.
We have now been told by Robert Jobson, a royal reporter, that there is a 3 page contract to sign if you want to be on the Sussex 'rota'.

It's most likely that the people who will sign the contract are the people who are in the WhatsApp group, who are already committed to the Sussexes.

WRT the Times report, it is reporting what the Telegraph said but is more balanced, in that it points out that Sentebale is being funded separately and that Mark Dyer is a co-defendant, neither of which the Telegraph article did.

It also asked both Prince Harry and Sentebale for comment.

I can't get my head around that at all,. @bluegreygreen
As an American I'd expect Meghan to have a reasonable grasp of the First Amendment and what it means for the media, and while of course that doesn't apply here it does look a bit ridiculous to demand a contract ... though possibly not as ridiculous as anyone prepared to agree

What I'm personally wondering is if this delay signifies a settlement being negotiated behind the scenes. I've always thought it the most likely outcome, but guess we'll find out in time

binkie163 · 19/10/2026 16:23

@TheAutumnCrow excellent article.

It shows the rot was setting in before the royal flounce, hence the hard questions h didn't like, how dare someone challenge him. The comparison to ig set up being the same begs the question if it will go the same way, tantrums and flouncing.

@bluegreygreen judging by the drone pics of the Nottingham visit, the press pack out numbered the onlookers. That's a large WhatsApp group. However if they continue to release their diary, nothing to stop anyone else turning up without being hog tied by a contract. A few YouTubers were in the Nottingham crowd not in the press pen.

@Puzzledandpissedoff I also think negotiations as the courts prefer a settlement to be reached. Hopefully no gag order attached.

Exactly, @binkie163. I assume people who have signed said 'contract' will receive additional briefings, but it's not like things are being kept particularly quiet.

What I'm personally wondering is if this delay signifies a settlement being negotiated behind the scenes.

Yes, @Puzzledandpissedoff, I expect that would be the best option for both sides.
I'm just finding the reporting of this pause rather interesting, given the next stage that was due.
