A vibe read 😂

I await events. But not sure the person writing it has any inside info about any of those projects, abd whether they are progressing? Happy to be corrected!

Soretoothfairy · 23/08/2024 07:25

I’m not sure of your point, meet me at the lake being in production has been known for a long time, and it’s been done by Netflix irrelevant of the credit agreement,

are you excited and loved the book?ordid I miss something?

Soretoothfairy · 23/08/2024 07:25

oh hang on, written by whom?

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/08/2024 07:40

Meet me at the Lake always reminds me of The Lake House. In my mind they are the same story.

Ikeaismyhappyplace · 23/08/2024 10:10

Why have you cropped the screen shots to make it appear that the list of adaptations in your first screenshot belong with the title in your second? Full article is here. www.whats-on-netflix.com/coming-soon/upcoming-netflix-movies-based-on-books-coming-in-2024-beyond/

Being deliberately obtuse there. The article is one whole article that includes all the up and coming titles. This article is written by someone who has an established reputation and it follows confirmed announcements by Netflix, Archewell and the author earlier this year. Not only that but Meghan has just finished filming her new series. Nothing has changed other than rumours which is typical for the industry. The screen shots are the relevant title and writer and the part of the article that mentions the film.

Personally, I am not so gleeful about hoping they fail in this area. A rumour is touted as fact - the end is nigh. A lot of posters have now shown their hand - they absolutely want H and M to fail. So, dislike and bias against them is driving an active negative wish for their downfall. Sad, so sad. Why spend so much time writing about a couple that you despise? Everything they do is twisted into something else which is all opinion and not factual.

They are doing well, a successful tour (x2), book deals, Lemonada, Netflix, ARO. None of these have gone away…they progress at a pace that no one is privy to other than the people involved. They didn’t even invite the British media but they rocked up anyway roaming the (unsafe 🫣) streets trying to get a look in. Madder than the snakes they are they still tried to undermine the invite from the VP. It didn’t work. Never does. What it does do is show the irony of calling famous people irrelevant when they are quite clearly not.

Anyway, Colombia is seen with fresh eyes so well done Harry and Meghan.

Is Meghan going to star in it?

I've not read the book but presume there is a juicy female lead, the title makes it sound like a romancey type thing.

I would not have thought so but I do not know. The couple are known to surprise people last minute (keeps people on their toes) so you never know. I highly doubt it though. The book was a best seller in the US and Netflix has a solid track record for airing films based on books. The Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground, made Leave the World Behind, which I loved, for example.

Not too keen on the sound of the book, best seller or no, that Archewell is behind but I will watch the film when it comes out to see it. Buying the film rights for millions shows they are not short of a bob or two and that they are serious about their involvement in producing content for the future.

Obtuse, not at all. Under the title you shared are a list of confirmed adaptations, going into more detail about each production. Then there is another sub header that reads ‘Movie book adaptations expected in 2025, again giving detail of each production. . Then at the bottom under another header is the list you shared. It describes these productions as having been in development for a number of years but no detail about release date. The journalist shows that this is only what is already known by linking back to an article about it from a year ago. Perhaps it will get made and do well, but I wouldn’t read this article as confirming anything new. Anyway people can draw their own conclusions from the full article.

All written by the same guy under the main header. Who do you think wrote it on his platform. A ghost? 😂

…and we have no announcements confirming that his latest article is not accurate as it is based on all confirmed announcements to date. I also hope it is made because it will be a win for their nascent production company. Considering Covid, strikes etc were all happening when it began I am not surprised that the production company has moved more slowly than to have been expected.

Next year should be an exciting one for the Sussex brand. Hopefully, the goodwill extended to them by so many sectors will be fruitful, Jars of jam notwithstanding. 😜

Thank you for posting the actual article and the full picture, not just a selective screen shot.

No this is the header for h and m adaptation.

LimeBiscuit · 23/08/2024 13:04

Since when is screenshotting a headline and the relevant bit pertaining to a film anything but selectively relevant. The whole, very long article, is information of known facts about an array of programmes. I am hardly going to screen shot multiple times throughout the article about other films to get to the only bit that is relevant to Archewell. Oh, but it’s a positive article about H and M. Of course, 🤗, as you were then… pick away.
