Just curious really
How much screen time per week or day do you think they are allowed?
Also how many out of school classes and clubs do you think they do?
How much down time do you think they have?

Id say Louis is entirely normally behaved for his age, probably actually a bit better behaved than most. Charlotte seems very mature and poised. George looks a bit fed up and sullen sometimes, it must get drummed into him whats instore.
Poor kid.

I don’t get why so many keep insisting that George is sullen or unhappy and dreading his fate. How do you know? Maybe he is just a more reserved and thoughtful child. Not everyone has to be a cheeky chappy and gurning like a loon. It’s entirely possible that he just has a quieter personality. Nothing wrong with that. I have 3 DS and they are all completely different. One of them seems quiet and reserved is the most confident of all of them. There is a lot of projecting and stereotyping going on here

OK. Having asked for the comment to be deleted and having been put in my place, I won’t engage further.

What a silly petty response.

In what world does a child being a child make people jump to something being wrong 🙄.

Kitkat1523 · 16/06/2024 11:29

They are 3 young children all with differing personalities ……same as everyone’s kids are….. I think they all do very well when seen in public

smilesy · 16/06/2024 11:38

Nice photo of them in casual dress with their dad. I suppose this also underlines why the children are dressed so differently when they attend royal occasions. Makes them harder to recognise when they are in their civvies as it were love you, Papa': Royal children mark Father's Day www.bbc.com/news/articles/cleep0dped4o See here

Have reported my own post. I really didn’t think people would get so worked up about a comment about a child they don’t know.

Your responses seem petulant for an adult, and yet you're quibbling over a small child's behaviour

So I take it that you know him then ?

I suspect they have lots of extracurricular activities.

They will have busy lives, very active and sporty. But there is no getting away from the fact that they are kids who are at school, who will talk to other kids, who will talk about online games. So I think they will have iPads and play games like Roblox like any other child their age. There will be strict rules about locations being on / chat.

Inmynotgivingafuckera · 18/06/2024 19:46

They are all very well behaved kids if their behaviour in public mirrors their behaviour in private. Louis is a normal 6 year old who is excitable, inquisitive and who can’t sit still!!

Pinkytudor · 18/06/2024 21:32

On the question of how many extra curricular activities they do, I’d guess they must do quite a lot! I’ve definitely read that they do sailing when in Norfolk and they got ponies during lockdown so presumably they have riding lessons. I remember reading that George did ballet when he was younger, which I imagine has stopped by now, but I’d be surprised if Charlotte didn’t have ballet lessons. Also, I guess they probably learn piano (Catherine did) and it would make sense for them to do speech and drama lessons given the future expectation on them to be able to deliver speeches etc. Also, they seem to love sport - and it’s often very important at prep schools - so they may well have team training etc as well as school games lessons (which I guess will be at least two afternoons a week.) They’ll have swimming lessons too I reckon. Skiing may be confined to holidays, but it will definitely be a hobby, and there are so many other activities they can do at school (golf, gardening, choir, chess club, cookery etc etc) it’s a wonder they have any time to work although I get the impression they take schoolwork very seriously and if these kids don’t read (and get read to) every day then I’ll eat my hat. They also look well rested so I’m sure they go to bed at a sensible hour. Dizzying really.

I'd be interested to see if any of them transition. If they go all Goth and rebellious in their teen years. If they refuse to go on stage (the balcony) in costume anymore, if they smuggle an ipad/phone into their rooms and go mad on social media. Ah you know, the usual things kids get up to now.

I suppose they will be supervised all hours though so may not have the freedom to "be themselves", certainly not in public anyway.

One of them might shimmy down the drainpipe some night and cause chaos. I'd love to see that lol.

As it is, I really do feel for them especially George. But by the time he is to ascend the throne he will probably throw his crown in the air and feck off to the Amazon rain forest or something.

bellamountain · 18/06/2024 22:15

I think it's more Prince George really, if say his friends play Fortnite will he feel left out if he can't play? Most parents give their younger children iPads so they can get things done (i.e. housework) although doesn't work with my 4 year old not interested in the iPad at all! Would rather his toys.

LadyMuckRake · 19/06/2024 15:29

The stay at home mums will make sure they're not gaming 24/7
I was at work and my son became addicted to gaming.

elliejjtiny · 19/06/2024 15:51

I would think they do lots of activities and some screen time but not much. Mainly because William and Catherine will have a lot of help so there will be more time to devote to giving the children these opportunities.

Prince Louis seems like a very lovely, lively little boy. He's still only little and I think he does really well at all the public occasions he has to go to.

What I've always wondered is, I've seen the photos of inside the palaces where it all looks like a national trust property. Are there rooms in their apartments/houses that the public don't see where the furniture is from ikea, the kids have dinosoars /teddies on their duvets and they all wear their onesies.

WinnieTheW0rm · 19/06/2024 18:14

The school they're at offers boarding, and it's typical for boarding schools to offer a lot more in terms of activities than day schools, and for them to go on longer in to the evening.

It's probably better for them to access lots of different clubs and sports in safe surroundings with classmates. It can't be easy having to think of the security angle for everything so going to a school with loads on offer gives them the chance to just join in.

I should imagine screen time would be rather like how it was back in the days when there were only 3 channels and children's programmes were only a couple of hours between end of school and the early evening news. So permission to watch some stuff (not least so they have some idea what everyone else is going on about). But turned on only to watch something specific, then turned off.

They won't be allowed any form of social media until they're much older and understand how to use it safely

They'll probably be allowed online only to look up specific things, and supervised. Once found (and read/watched/printed) I'd expect it to be turned off - no semi-mindless "I'll just have a little browse")

How horrible to criticise a child like that. Just so mean spirited.
