completely off topic, but I'm.intrigued @DistinguishedSocialCommentator as to how you managed to retire at the age of 50, buy yourself a shiny new Range Rover and sports car when you worked in a role for your local council in a role where you dealt with client records (so unlikely to be strategic or senior management).

At least your obsession with the RF means you've stopped posting ridiculous ideas about cyclists being the scum of the earth and the biggest threat on the road to pedestrians

It's always worth bearing in mind that anybody can claim to be anybody and have done anything on SM (nods knowingly).

You'd agree if you were living in my road the last few days.

The Express as a trusted source? seriously? that's on a par with the Mirror and GB News.

Still, good to see they print other stuff than 'wall of snow to engulf UK!!'

feellikeanalien · 20/03/2024 15:45

My DD has been waiting impatiently for the "wall of snow" for quite a while now!

Looked on MSN briefly today and they're still at it. Still, only a few more weeks and it's 'hottest summer EVER!!' for a few months.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 20/03/2024 16:02

Oh look, it's not too late, @feellikeanalien

UK weather maps show exactly when 383-mile snow bomb will hit Britain - check your area (msn.com)

Without any hate to Kate but this story as "breaking news" combined with the farm shop clip sounds like an emergency PR strategy that is clearly successful. The aim is to make people forget about the Photoshop incident, put the sympathy back onto Kate and have people get excited about her first appearance after Easter.

  1. The behaviour is abhorrent but considering the high profile yet extreme secrecy surrounding her surgery, it's almost inevitable that someone would have tried to access her file. The hospital 100% has security measures in place to protect their high profile patients.

  2. It's reasonable to assume that there is attempted, unauthorised access on virtually every single high profile patient at The London Clinic (including Charles). They must have IT systems in place to track and block this.

  3. KP would have been informed of any attempts to access the file. They may have initially been reluctant to release the info to the press because it's incredibly damaging to The London Clinic. It essentially throws the entire hospital under the bus for being untrustworthy. It bulldozes the reputation of all the surgeons and nurses who genuinely stayed silent and took care of the Princess during her stay.

  4. After the PR disaster, KP comms probably decided to do exactly this and sacrifice any goodwill they had for the hospital that treated Kate in exchange for leading the press away from the Photoshop and Rose Hanbury drama. To reiterate, the palace and hospital would have expected unauthorised access to her file before the surgery even took place. The people who knew about her case would have been under NDA or professional enough to be trusted.

Exactly right. Finally KP staff are doing their job. I don't know what took them so long, its not exactly hard is it?

Thank you

I do feel for the staff.

I guess it is tempting but most people will stick to the rules and I hope these 3 staff are found to be innocent

Where I worked, staff were often reminded only to check records on a 'nned to know basis that realtes to their official role.' Sadly, some could not grasp the fact (this was a few years ago) that if management wanted to, they could easily tell with the help of the IT dept who looked at when and when

In these days of computer records, people do get caught out/ It is imperative you keep your password secure and ensure your screen is off, ie to view again need to put in password - otherwise anyone could move seats and quickly glance through records and you get the blame

Why do you feel for the staff? I imagine they have been checking her records specifically for unauthorised access. It's drilled into medical staff - you have to have reason for accessing the record. I have access to information about some celebrities as part of my job. I only access it when I need to as part of my job and I only access the information I need to do the job.

Innocent until proven guilty, perhaps??

You did read about leaving the pooter on, stepping aside to go to the loo for a minute and someone else has a quick look

Sure they are under investigation- if innocent I hope they are found innocent but if you're going to the loo you lock the screen/log out. Basic IT security.

You’re meant to lock your computer and remove your work card when you leave your computer unattended. This gets drilled into you at training. In my trust, you can be disciplined for leaving your computer on when it’s unattended.
