Earthshot has some very impressive people on the board of trustees and prize council, so the idea it’s a total failure and nobody cares is a bit of wishful thinking. It’s also not supposed to compete against or replace other initiatives, that’s not the point. If the EU is supporting green initiatives and national governments are supporting green initiatives and Earthshot is supporting green initiatives, that’s a good thing, it doesn’t mean the lowest $ value is a total failure and should give up. The other purpose of Earthshot which I think starts later in Singapore is linking businesses to those initiatives. So rather than giving the initiative a grant to scale up, they could be sponsored or supported by a business, to show that green initiatives are not just charitable they are profitable and in everyone’s interests.
