I don't know when that was said, or in what context (if at all). But it's often repeated on here to show Charles as an uncaring grandparent as well as an uncaring parent.

We've all seen the photos of him cuddling Williams children, and the video of Louis happily clambering onto his lap for a cuddle during the Jubilee concert. It looked like something he was used to asking for. Children don't do that (when both parents are there) unless they feel very relaxed & comfortable with that person.

I don't doubt he hasn't made mistakes as a parents, as every parent will have, bit he does appear caring and pretty hands on.

We are all subject to media manipulation, yes we try to critically assess, but we all can be sucked into a narrative.

She has left the family alone, she's not at the Coronation. She's done one interview and a documentary where she's given her view on the story. This country has a lot to be ashamed about and criticism of it IS ALLOWED. But the fact is, she hasn't slagged off this country. She does not like the press for genuinely valid reasons.. the press are not properly regulated and as a result get away with hideous behaviour.

She hasn't called this country racist (although y'know, our police forces have been found to be institutionally racist so it's not a difficult conclusion to reach).

Are you aware @Xenia that Samantha does not see any of her now adult children, nor does Thomas Jnr see his children. Are you also aware that Thomas Sir does not see these five grandchildren?

It's really interesting to me that the posters who fume about being insulted that they were called racist are often the ones fuelling racist tropes about Doria, even to the point of lying that Meghan had no relationship with her and never mentioned her before meeting Harry.

She has taken a lot of the taxpayers money for the couple of months of service she put in. She has cashed in endlessly on the RF since leaving, despite tolerating them for a very short amount of time. I am sure it was miserable and they absolutely hate each other but let go of it and move on?
People would moan less about her if her money making projects were based on her own talents (even though nobody has seen any evidence of what those might be). The rf association massively boosted her career prospects but I'm sure that would be overlooked if she stopped forcing half-in half-out (which is what their approach feels like) and focused on life beyond the rf.

I looked this up & the reference to ‘exotic dna’ was not a headline but an observation in an opinion piece which also describes Meghan as ‘genetically blessed’. How does that become ‘the headlines were all about…’ ?

Not sure if this is aimed at me or not but I'll answer anyway, I have never said anything negative about Doria in fact quite the opposite.

The common factor in the behaviour of all the Markles is that they all seem to want everything (infact they would 'take it all') in exchange for next-to-nothing. They need to go their separate ways for good and stay NC. There is no prospect of family reunions or building bridges. NS is best here.

But my reasons for finding Meghan annoying have nothing to do with her race - but with her way of dragging feuds into the public eye (like her Markle siblings) is cheapening the RF and making life difficult for Kate and Will, who have a difficult role to fulfil as it is

She hasn't cashed in endlessly. She did an interview and one documentary with her husband who was born into the institution and has experienced intense media scrutiny from the day he was born. Plenty of Royal Biographers and journalists cash in on the Royals so why shouldn't he? Yes she would have revived tax money but she was being attacked by the press for every trivial little thing and racist comments so left and hasn't relied on taxes since.

What job do you think she should do. Shes done a podcast and it did well. What job do you think she should do? She hasn't been half in and half out in the monarch for over three years now.

I read the full sentence, I would have agreed with you wholeheatedly but your sentence began with 'trashy white Markles' whilst calling out someone else's racist behaviour. When they go low ......

As long as her 'output' involves talking about her five minutes in the RF then it is cashing in. I suppose that The Bench was a rare example of something which she worked on which did not involve doing that. Her blog appealed top many people (although it was definitely not for me). It did demonstrate that she was a real foodie so something to do with food would make sense.

That is not an example of racism. No we should not say nothing when people put on blackface to mock their biracial relative.

Of course white trash is a racial slur. If you are saying someone is white (caucasian) and trash, how can it not be?

I take your explanation in good faith but please consider this.

Samantha herself says she last talked to Meghan in 2008.

Thomas Jnr says he last talked to her in 2010.

Then in 2017, they both start going to the press to talk about her after she starts dating Harry.

They did not grow up together, they are not close. She tried to explain that in the Oprah interview and the Netflix series. Samantha's response was to sue her for essentially saying they were never close.

Is it your view that she should give in to emotional blackmail and pretend a relationship where there was never one? Samantha's stories to the media are so many that M's lawyers last week asked to submit them as a separate drive.

My son's parental grandparents were toxic as fuck. He hasn't seen them since he was about 4 and he's now 27. I stand by that decision. They have no right to see him.

My DP hasn't seen his father since he was 18. He was forced to see him but once he got to adult age and was allowed to choose, he stopped seeing him. That was 20 years ago. Our DD has never met him and nor have I. DP is 1 of 4 and only 1 sibling chooses to see their father.

Being no contact with family isn't reserved for majorly dysfunctional families.

@Sudeko the abuse she gets has come from her being a member of the royal family. So she never gets to talk about this huge aspect of her life because she's married into that family?
