@StormzyinaTCup have you seen Samantha's daughter accuse her of abuse? it's awful, poor children.

PollyPeptide · 30/04/2023 20:02

Rockybooboo · 30/04/2023 19:53

Samantha's children are adults and are able to talk about the relationship with their mother and they seem to back Meghan. Archie and Lillibet are tiny so Samantha is really out of line talking about them.

They can all talk about each other but it leads to no good in the end.
I liked Charles and Diana but their interviews were very bad mistakes. True, Charles didn't make it personal like Diana's did, but he should have just divorced her and kept it private. Diana ignore her children's pleas and the fact they'd feel humiliated in order to follow her own vendetta. Diana's interview was worse than Charles but the damage they co-inflicted was awful. It doesn't matter if one said less bad things.
These personal interviews never end well.
I really don't know how even handed people don't hold them all responsible for this constant tattling, but instead give some of them a pass.

I think it's odd that Samantha is doing more to disparage Meghan than repair her relationship with her estranged children. Very very odd.

She is flipping odd. I don't know why you're puzzled by that. What does she have to do to prove that she doesn't behave like the average person. 🙄

Meghan's Father's day message to her dad, written a couple of years before he became an embarrassing inconvenience.

*He helped me turn my bathroom into a darkroom when I was twelve because I wanted to be a photographer - shading my windows in red lighting gels and filling my cabinets with extra jugs of fixer. He put gas in my car when I went from audition trying to make it as an actress. He is the person who believed in this grand dream of mine well before I could even see it as a possibility. He taught me to write thank you notes, to always arrive early, to drink Arnold Palmers, to find my light when I’m on camera…and beyond.

And that, right there, is the point: my dad taught me to find my light. And he taught me to always make my own box.

To my dad - my thoughtful, inspiring, hardworking Daddy - Happy Father’s Day. ‘If I had all the water in the world, I’d give all the water to you…’ (You won’t get that quote, but he will. And for Father’s Day, that’s all that matters).”*

Yes, they are all shameless and awful. I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the dad, though. He seems so pitiful, old and sad. He always put Meghan first and now that she's turned her back on him the other two kids are using him to get at her. Such a toxic dynamic.

tatalan · 30/04/2023 20:14

@Quokkasarecutest Meghan never denied he was a good Father. She made it clear what the issue was on Oprah. She asked him if he colluded with the paps and he chose to lie about it, especially if the Palace were to call in press favours to kill that story.

She spoke well of her Mother on her blog too, it's funny how folks never fail to discount Doria's presence in her life.

But it’s her niece’s story to tell, it’s not Meghan’s place to put it in a ‘tell all’ book just to get back at her sister/prove a point.

I find the whole Meghan/Niece relationship a bit odd anyway but that’s probably for another thread.

What's the deal with the niece? I haven't heard about her before

tatalan · 30/04/2023 20:18

@Quokkasarecutest Thomas did this all on his own, he's called Meghan names, called Harry names, threatened to sue her, threatened to assist the DM in M's lawsuit against them, pledged to support Samantha's lawsuit against Meghan. He sued the pap agent he colluded with and lost, a judge also granted a restraining order against him for the pap agent in question. I don't believe the other two kids are using him at all.

Why would H&M bring their kids around a man appearing on YouTube channels trafficking in conspiracy theories about his daughter and grandchildren? answer that.

Whitewolf2 · 30/04/2023 20:20

They’re just trashy people trying to grab as much money as they can.

I wouldn’t constantly slag off my half sibling or daughter if they got famous (even if they were a terrible person!) just to make some money. They have zero morals and I think anyone who believes this shite is a moron.

Offered a platform/ to have her voice heard and no Markle has apparently ever been able to give such an opportunity the swerve.

None of those Markle apples fell far from the big Markle tree.

Charles said he had committed adultery and that his parents were cold so it was quite personal.

Thanks for the link, I just watched it.

Actually I now feel very sorry for the dad. The justification Meghan used for cutting him off - that he let paps take a few banal pics of him preparing for the wedding for money- where was the real harm in that? Especially after all the deals she’s done herself.

I think she didn’t want him at the wedding because he seemed fat and embarrassing and she seized on the first thing she could find to cut him off.

I haven't watched it but I've always wondered why it seemed such an over reaction to what he did. I mean a few photos isn't exactly the crime of the century. Obviously it has all gone downhill since but I think it we could turn the clock back to that point and they could do it differently.

The siblings are a different matter.

Maybe he lied as he was scared of what her reaction would be. We will never know but if she was really angry about it he might have felt lying was the only way to go.

Sarahdata is one of the Twitter nutjobs though. I'd take anything she says with a pinch of salt. I don't trust any of them, rotten to the core.

There are a couple of relationship red flags for me.

Hmm, the excuse she gave for not inviting the niece to the wedding sounds strange - not sure I believe that.

She is a bit much but has plenty of vids and comes up a lot when i go searching for stuff.

Yes, I guess you're right I was just thinking about him and Diana. I actually meant he didn't go after Diana in a personal way and start detailing her faults, to the embarrassment of his children.
But you're right he did talk about the queen and his father which I think he was totally wrong to do. He should keep it closed and not air about family matters. These interviews hang around and haunt you. Which is why they shouldn't do them.

It is odd because on Netflix she seemed normal. That's a first for the Markel clan! But I felt like Meghan really sold her a pup. Meghan says she was advised not to invite her to the wedding. You'd still invite your "little sister", wouldn't you, if she wanted to come? Harry would have said it was OK. And the palace deny they said that.
So let's be charitable and believe them both and say that Meghan understood that's what she was being told. So then Ashleigh didn't attend the wedding and the phone calls from Meghan fizzled out.
But Ashleigh has allowed herself to be talked into believing that was because the palace was interfering the calls. But Meghan had her own phone, she was having visits from friends to both Nott Cott and Frogmore. She was going into London for meals out. She went to the US for a baby shower and to see Williams play tennis. So where is this tight control? If she's chatting with and visiting friends abroad, why could she not stay in touch with Ashleigh?
It all rings a bit hollow.

God what an awful spectacle of bitter resentment and self obsession this programme is.

Matched only by the awful spectacle of bitter resentment and self obsession of the TV programmes and books by H&M.

Gross, the lot of them.

It's all utterly tawdry.

And I also have always found it odd that Harry never met her father even once before the wedding. Especially when they appeared to have a pretty OK relationship at that time.

Viviennemary · 30/04/2023 21:07

Meghan has cast them aside. She will never reconcile. Now she has fallen out with the royals. Seems to be a bit of a pattern here.
