I really like the point being made by the radio presenter and I think she's nailed it. People are embarrassed to have supported a family who have behaved in the way they clearly have, even taking everything they say with a big pinch of salt as we of course don't have the other side of the families views.

They are then projecting their feelings of self embarrassment onto the catalyst for the change, his love for megan.

Well marrying a “Canadian Sugar Maple” instead of an “English rose” is grammatically a “what” instead of a “who” when you’re using such terminology. Such terminology used to refer to me. itself is sexist & dehumanising….the caller is literally saying that all English women (including Meghan’s SIL Kate Middleton) are “English roses” as well.

Twitter is an echo chamber! You can find your view points shouted back at you and convince yourself everyone thinks the same as you so you must be correct, anyone who uses tweets to try and bolster their opinion is a bit dim in my opinion.

Oh I'm sure there were some vile things said about M before the marriage but I think judging by the crowds at Windsor Castle and even posts here, most people thought she'd be brilliant for the RF. Maybe the caller meant it would have been better to marry someone that had some idea of what the royal life is going to be like, what was expected of them etc etc. It may not be to do with skin colour!! How do we know they meant that?

She may have intended to mean a better fit in that way. Meghan said she had no idea so maybe it would have helped if she did?! Not exactly unreasonable.
