£14 and not even released yet. Probably six pre book sales. 🤣

Like pretty much eery other hard back autobiography in my experience.
I normally buy via Amazon but sometimes by in stores. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for a new book of that type. Even pre orders for those kind of books are normally starting off at half price. the RRP means nothing in my experience of book buying.

I paid full price for the Harry Potter books pre release. Worth every penny

New books are not marked down to half price so soon unless they’re not selling/market indicators show they’re not going to sell at higher price. Use your common sense.

That goes for all the brand new but half price (not 10% off but half price) books mentioned on this thread. They’re all by public figures with the same far leftist ideology. Same ones pushing the trans agenda to erase women’s rights, and a lot of other controlling agendas. Harry, the Obamas, Jamie Oliver, they all are in with it.

People are seeing that and they’re not buying their books in droves anymore. There is a lot of corruption going on around us, how issues are framed, everything.

Well this has taken an interesting turn.Grin

username8888 · 15/11/2022 19:01

Mathew Perry's book and Alan Rickmans books are not half price. ARs book just has a £5 reduction on the £25 price. For £19.99 I'd buy that any day. Alan Rickman is clearly thought to be more popular by the seller.

What a horrid post. Loads of new hardbacks are half price.

TheFarawayNearby · 15/11/2022 19:04

Oh God, the constant threads about Harry and Megan. I'm not a fan of lots of things, and I don't start threads about them.

I've read so many threads about this book that I think I might actually buy it now.

Above the rest? The rest of what?

OPs not even trying to be subtle with about their racism

username8888 · 15/11/2022 19:13

@BeckyWithTheAverageHair African American women humanitarians. Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey do a good job, but not for such a long time as Michelle.

@PinkFrogss Oh, the racist card. Didn't take you long. I thought I was talking about a book by Harry. Someone brought up Michelle Obama (who I admired) not me I might add. But now I'm a racist for liking Michelle Obama and thinking she's doing a good job.

I think the person who is critical of MO is the racist here!

Time to put the bottle down OP...

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 15/11/2022 19:16

Jamie Oliver, they all are in with it

How is JO pushing the trans agenda?* are there subliminal messages in the recipes, or what?

*Thinks, 'You're going to regret asking that, Danny...'

They are both £12.50 at WH Smiths.

Seriously, does no one understand how the big booksellers work these days?

You’ve taken a black woman and categorised her purely by her race. You haven’t made a single comment about other authors races, just MO, and you expect her to represent African American people.

Does PH represent white people?

LadyKenya · 15/11/2022 19:27

I agree with you @PinkFrogss , but I suspect that you are wasting your time on the OP. It is fairly obvious how they are, with their fakeness.

username8888 · 15/11/2022 19:28

@ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAgain But we were looking at Waterstones. Clue is in the title of my post. 🙄

@PinkFrogss I am not engaging with you further. I am not a racist, as I suspect you are. I seriously don't know what your problems are and why you're obsessed with denigrating Michelle Obama.

Waterstones tend to choose a handful each week of pure releases and new releases and put them in their half price or less section. They will often then rotate them.

The books you mentioned earlier are half price or almost on WHSmiths and Amazon.

It's clearly nothing to do with low popularity tbh as it's very high (it was number 1 when it was first available and is still in the top few) in the new release book charts and it's not even out yet.

What does that matter? You are clutching at straws now, OP. You were wrong. Just admit it. And you were wrong about the reason behind the pricing of PH's book too. Admit that.

username8888 · 15/11/2022 16:54

Did anyone seriously think people would pay £28 for it?

No? In the UK, popular hardbacks never sell for full price? Have you really never noticed that before?

Yes, the late Alan Rickman's book has been out for a month now and it could well have been half price at Waterstones Wink pre-release/on release. Matthew Perry's book has been out for a couple of weeks now too.
