Does anyone have children who attend the same school as a royal child?

I was just reading a story about princess Charlote and how her school friends call her a different name. Does anyone have a child who is in the same class as a royal? I’m wondering what it must be like, I’m guessing the other children would know if they had a prince or princess in their class. Im also wondering if they are all invited around each other’s houses or to birthdays etc. If so, I wonder do Will & Kate allow the kids to attend? Just so many questions ☺️ I’m sure a lot of the parents must have had to sign a confidentiality clause or someone must be carrying out security checks. Unfortunately I doubt the children can lead a normal life, I suppose they are still so small but as they get older they may have more opportunities to see friends after school. What does everyone think?

Everyone knows who Princess Charlotte is, Lena Tindall though? Might just be the kid four doors down.

^ I would walk past all of Prince William's kids and not notice.

Mmhmm. Sure. Of course.

I have no doubt she attended St Andrew's the same time as William:)

I went to school with a Princess from one of those deposed and defunct European royal houses, and she had a perfectly normal schooling (well, as much as it could been at our demented school).

I believe she does charitable works now. She was rather shy and nice.

This was so last year this thread.

I once worked with a group of teens on a residential trip who were all in Harry's class at Eton. It wasn't an Eton trip (outside company, school holidays and booked by parents) but I assumed they'd all deliberately booked the same 5 days!

He didn't go.

And one was a little shit and I got him sent home after just 24 hours!

No idea why he didn't go but security could be a reason?

The kids weren't fussed about being in the same class as him but I guess it's just normal for them and when they caught up with him via mobile each evening they were just teens being teens. (Who all had better mobiles than I did!!!!!)

When William and Harry were at school
they used the surname Wales due to their father being the Prince of Wales. Will Charlotte and George change surname now. What is actually on their birth certificate I wonder?

Prince George's says "His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge"

Charlotte's "Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge"

Louis "His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge"

Absolutely not, what a load of shite.

My old boss had a kid in the same year as george when they were reception, but he didnt know them/wasnt british so didnt really care.

That was a bit of a non story lol

5k a term is normal for prep.

My friend went to Eton with William.

Another friend was a teacher at St Thomas, but didn’t teach the Royals, or maybe she did? She said she didn’t.

I went to school with a Lord, pretty standard really.

I would too - wouldn't have a clue if they didn't have any security or anyone around them. Especially the younger one.
I wouldn't recognise Kate either unless she was with William

William wouldn't have been there as early as 1990s. He would have been 8 in 1990. He's the same age as my sister. It would have been nearer 2000 onwards for his university years, surely. I went to university in 1991 and I'm a lot older than William!

There are plenty of very normal families who send their children to private schools. Not everyone is loaded. I have a few friends whith children at Thomas's Battersea and they live in normal victorian terraced or semi houses.
so true, my DDs school , a very exclusive private, has students from all backgrounds.

Aren’t “very exclusive private” and” students from all backgrounds” somewhat oxymoronic?

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 16/09/2022 22:48

like I say my sis is very persuadable and probs a roommate convinced her she saw prince william…… Wink so it’s probs not true and I apologise for posting this on there

earsup · 16/09/2022 22:54

DS studied Art at a london uni.....some one also studied there....quite talentless and had own friends shipped in at lunch times etc....never mixed with the common students.....not naming !

myrtilles · 16/09/2022 23:07

I think Prince William went to St Andrews in 2000 as I had a relative there at the time.

I’d recognise Kate and William, but I would defy anyone to recognise George or Charlotte a) without their parents, b) without their minders, and c) in a class of thirty other UMC kids in school uniform, unless you were specifically expecting to see them. There are four kids in DS’s class who look indistinguishable from Charlotte.

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/09/2022 23:34

Some younger relatives were at school with Eugenie, she was fun, nice and very chatty, apparently.

antelopevalley · 16/09/2022 23:46

George and Charlotte if dressed in ordinary clothes or school uniforms would just look like loads of other kids.

lessthanathirdofanacre · 16/09/2022 23:51

I went to university with someone from the Mountbatten family. So not a royal but closely related to the royal family. I didn’t know the person well, our closest encounters happened because we rode at the same stable.

🤣 Sorry, I didn’t mean it to sound like that 🤣

At my school everyone was a Lord or something. Well not everyone, but lots were. In truth it meant they were living in old clothes and drove ancient cars. Lots of mud and labradors but no actual cash. Living in houses that were falling apart and freezing cold. Parents might have had titles, but they didn’t use them and were plain Mrs Bloggs.

In fact the only person I’ve ever met who demanded her title was used was a Duchess.

its not all Nannies who do the drop off/pickup Nor are they all Wealthy parents. It’s a mix of that and parents ,based on their profession , on average London wages.
