The royal family

Does anyone have children who attend the same school as a royal child?

I was just reading a story about princess Charlote and how her school friends call her a different name. Does anyone have a child who is in the same class as a royal? I’m wondering what it must be like, I’m guessing the other children would know if they had a prince or princess in their class. Im also wondering if they are all invited around each other’s houses or to birthdays etc. If so, I wonder do Will & Kate allow the kids to attend? Just so many questions ☺️ I’m sure a lot of the parents must have had to sign a confidentiality clause or someone must be carrying out security checks. Unfortunately I doubt the children can lead a normal life, I suppose they are still so small but as they get older they may have more opportunities to see friends after school. What does everyone think?

My sister was at St. Andrews with Harry…. She had broken her ankle and hadn’t showered for weeks as it was just too hard and the only time she met him was when she was in her pjs, cast on her leg hobbling about and very dirty. Always wondered what would have happened if they married each other……Grin

SilverLiningPlaybook · 15/09/2022 06:02

Harry didn’t go to St Andrews.

OnTheBrinkOfChange · 15/09/2022 06:07

😂 Your sister totally made that up! He didn't go to university.

GiantTortoise · 15/09/2022 06:09

Do you mean William? He was at St Andrew's. A friend of mine is a lecturer there and taught him.

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 15/09/2022 06:09

oh fuck sake it was William…..

Yes she said she had to sign the official secrets act

nonono1 · 15/09/2022 08:21

No but I wish I could send my kids to Lambrook. It looks amazing!

A friend of mine was at St Andrews with William
and Kate. Kate used to give them lifts in her car. Also met a family on holiday whose daughter was at nursery with George when they lived in Norfolk. Apparently he gave really big hugs (that’s a quote from the daughter when asked what he was like). They said there was security there but they were quite hidden from the children. And Kate did the nursery drop off/ pick ups.

A member of the family has worked closely with George and Charlotte at school. George apparently is well aware he is special , but a nice child, as is Charlotte.

It's not like they go to the local primary school is it, there will be lots of incredibly wealthy families ,probably other very minor royals too.

@upinaballoon
when you open the message box to reply, at the right hand bottom corner there is a little face, next to the@ sign. If you click on that, it opens the wonderful world of smileys ( and lots of other non verbal communicants)

xx or rather 🫰🏻

Often wondered the same. Agree Lambrook looks fabulous would love my dc to go to a similar school...
At Thomas's Battersea they had Sophie & Freddie Windsor's girls Maud & Isabella with them, distant cousins. I often wonder how playdates etc worked..
I'm sure Lambrook will have plenty of aristocratic kids & the very wealthy..
Spare a thought for the tiger mums who killed themselves trying to get their dc into Thomas's Battersea to be in reception with Louis🤣

that made laugh 😂😂.

There are plenty of very normal families who send their children to private schools. Not everyone is loaded. I have a few friends whith children at Thomas's Battersea and they live in normal victorian terraced or semi houses.

Yes but a semi or terrace house in London costs £££££,s! Its not like living in a similar or terrace in say bolton like me is it?

@Theworldisquiethere

A friends son went to nursery with Zara Tindall’s daughter and she came to his birthday parties
That's minor royal though... because you had to refer to their parent Grin

Everyone knows who Princess Charlotte is, Lena Tindall though? Might just be the kid four doors down.

Minor Royal? Isn't she the Queen's grand daughter?
So is this post only about Major Royals or just Royals.

I would have thought Zara Tindall is quite well known. I would still walk past her though because I never recognise people.

Or "you'll never guess the rules Royal kids have to follow..." And the print shit like...they have to walk alongside their parents...or they can't go scuba diving on a pony whilst wearing a tutu...

I love this too!
I remember one "Rule Kate Has to Follow" being putting her fork tines down or tines up next to her knife, depending on whether she was taking a break to have a drink or something, or whether she'd actually finished eating.
Something my mother taught me and something I found useful when working as a waitress (I knew if people had finished and didn't have to interrupt them to ask).
And it's always framed as such as difficult and tiresome thing to have to do:
"Poor Kate isn't allowed to wipe the back of her hand over her mouth, belch loudly and say, 'I don't know about you, Mother, but I'm stuffed!' to the queen to indicate she's had sufficient to eat".

RedxRobin · 15/09/2022 15:04

Went to St Andrews with William. Didn't know him but saw him around all the time (it's a very small town). Everyone pretty much left him alone and let him live his life like every other student. The only real giveaway was his protection guys who were easily spotted by being the only sober people in the bar! 😆
