Can anyone recommend something that is effective, that I can buy online? I’ve just paid £140 (£70 for the treatment, £70 consultation fee) for one cat, and reeling a bit at the cost!

Do you mean that the cats have fleas and when you put it on them the fleas die? Or do you mean you use it regularly and your cats don't get fleas therefore it works? If the latter then your cats probably wouldn't have fleas anyway. I have multiple cats and I only flea treat if there is an outbreak, and that seems to be around once every four years. But then, if I do have an outbreak, Advantage no longer kills the fleas.

It kills the fleas. I've never been a fan of using too many chemicals so only use flea treatments when there's evidence of fleas and it still works. I read something about some parts of the country having >50% resistance so maybe where we live helps. I also go to the launderette regularly and put all throws and cat beds on a hot wash in the giant machine which probably helps keep things at bay. Have one cat on Bravecto because he has a really bad allergy and can't afford to pick up even one flea because he ends up covered in bleeding scabs.

Interesting. Yes I think it depends on the area. East London fleas are particularly hard 😂

I think the south of the country is more resistant unlike our softer more northern fleas 😂
