Las Vegas Cash GIF by DYD Sports & Betting Brand

And while the cats are thus engaged, their human slaves are still finishing the turkey and Christmas pud, and idly placing bets on whether or not Kitty will use her new cat tree.

The tree looked beautiful until Basil butchered it you rude bunch 🤣.
@Pianoaholic - we have a chair like that too.
And based on your username - we also have a cat who plays the fortepiano.

Wow. I am impressed . I haven't managed to teach Herbie anything!
Mind you, he does tolerate all the piano playing going on in this house. He is less keen on DD's clarinet, DS's sax, plus various other instrumentalists who turn up needing accompanying!

Your house sounds (literally 🤣) like ours.

I've had a NMF in the garden today, which I'd normally be super excited about, but the poor thing is in a terrible condition. If it keeps coming into the garden I'll contact a wildlife rescue charity and see if they can help.

He looks as if he's been shaved? Treated by a wildlife vet perhaps?

HumanToCatBeasties · 04/01/2025 13:09

After doing a bit of googling I think it's mange. It's missing fur on its back legs and the base of its tail as well and its face looked sore, although you can't see from the photo. It also seemed to be starving hungry. I was only standing about 8 feet away when it came up to the food I'd put out.

Oh poor NMFox. I'm sad for him.

Poor fox. It does look in a terrible state.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats I see that you and I were the only people on that thread about nine day old turkey who would actually eat it.

A cautionary tale.

I bought some plug-ins which were cheaper than Feliway, and plugged them in two days ago, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room.

When I went to bed last night, I couldn't work out what the appalling smell in the bedroom was. My husband had had a shower, so.........🤣

This morning there was also a foosty smell in the sitting room. Paw Broon and I spent the whole day trying to find the source.

It finally dawned on me. So we smelt the plug-ins and then took them right out to the dustbin. OMG the stench.

I mean, they may work very well. But the smell isn't worth it.

I've just ordered some more Feliways.......

I wonder if Linney and Gizmo were thinking that your house smelt lovely.

I've left some more food out for him this evening. It's due to snow later tonight though, so the food will get wet if he doesn't come back before then. I felt so sorry for him, he had a massive bushy tail and must have looked very handsome before he lost his fur.

We are clearly made of sterner stuff than these fussy 'young' people. 🤣🤣

RumNotRun · 04/01/2025 18:45

I generally go with the cat taste test. If they won't eat it then neither will I. It's worked well for me so far!

Yes, that's why DH and I won't eat Go-Cat Duck with Vegetables.

Is that allowed??????

RumNotRun · 04/01/2025 19:29

Oh, they like all flavours of Go Cat here. The current acceptable dry food is the large breeder bag from Amazon thankfully as they go through so much of the bally stuff.

My boiler is broken so I have bought a convection heater. I think Fred approves.

I’m feeding next door’s NMC while her owners are on holiday. She’s a very beautiful silver tabby called Betty, who’s suspected to be at least part Maine Coon from her size & floof.

Pianoaholic · 04/01/2025 20:04

We had some plug in pet things which smelled awful, can't remember the brand.
Herbie is very unimpressed with the ❄️ snow we have here (southwest), he went out in it very briefly and raced back in after 3mins!
Have people got much yet, and what do the cats think of it?!

EmpressaurusKitty · 04/01/2025 20:11

None in my part of London yet. It’s freezing outside though, & Kitty’s not at all impressed with that.

RumNotRun · 04/01/2025 20:11

No snow here but it is cold, hence Frederick practically sitting on top of the heater.

Pianoaholic · 04/01/2025 20:14

I didn't want snow....it was sleet that was predicted here. Sometimes we do get it when it's not been forecast and vice versa in our area.
