I’ve stupidly run out of cat food and can’t get any more til the morning. I have 4 hungry cats and no cans of tuna in the cupboard.

Any chicken meat fish in freezer?
Ubereats groceries and fill up the (expensive) minimum order with groceries.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 26/08/2024 20:35

My cat loves scrambled egg, can you get a woosh?

StarSlinger · 26/08/2024 20:35

Lots of shops deliver on ubereats or Tesco have whoosh that delivers fairly quickly.

Augustisnearlydonesogoodbyesun · 26/08/2024 20:36

Packet of mixed veg would keep my dcat happy.

Littletreefrog · 26/08/2024 20:37

Any meat or fish in the house? Mine also like wotsits or quavers.

colachive · 26/08/2024 20:48

Unfortunately rural location so we don’t qualify for any of those grocery services (but they sound very useful!) and we are pescatarian so no meat lying around. I’ve given them a bit of smoked salmon and am now cooking up some scrambled egg so we’ll see how that goes down!

One of mine would be chuffed provided you did him some extra buttery beans and cheese.on toast!

Grocery delivery?

Scrambled eggs, cooled?

I understand cats can have plain yoghurt (not milk though, the fermentation makes it digestable)

Any plain frozen fish or meat in?

DeathMetalMum · 26/08/2024 20:59

Boycat would eat anything dropped on the floor a favourite being grated cheese but has stolen potato wedges in the past

Girl cat particularly likes licking muller rice pots and lids. But doesn't like cheese. She is more fussy.

colachive · 26/08/2024 21:01

well I’ve put down the scrambled eggs, two of them have disappeared through the cat flap and one of them is sitting on the kitchen table staring daggers at me. The other is visibly outraged (pictured).

the only other thing I can find is a tin of sardines in sunflower oil but Google says that’s a no no

Salmon and eggs will do them grand for tonight til you can get them more cat food.

Onehappymam · 26/08/2024 21:01

My cat goes mad for sliced melon. Also cream cheese.

BIWI · 26/08/2024 21:02

Why are the sardines out? I would have thought that would be perfect!

Aww he's gorgeous!
I have two huskies and they are honestly more like big cats than dogs, very huffy and easily offended, whereas my wee beagle cross will take anything going

Apparently the sunflower oil is bad for them!

Sardines were one of the go-to foods I've used for trying to trap cats for TNR - the stinkier fish the better.

spikeandbuffy24 · 26/08/2024 21:06

My weirdo won't touch scrambled egg or tuna, but would cut you for a jacket potato with beans Confused

Thisoldheartofmine · 26/08/2024 21:07

Rinse the oil off in hot water,?

JoanOgden · 26/08/2024 21:09

I give my cat a bit of sardine in sunflower oil if I'm cooking them and it makes her day. You could always wash the sunflower oil off if you're worried? I don't think it's toxic for them, just not very healthy if eaten frequently.

GoldenPineapple15 · 26/08/2024 21:10

Cooked pasta tossed in butter ?

colachive · 26/08/2024 21:10

I’ve spooned out the sardines and patted the oil off, my girl Coco is going mad for these! Eggs still sitting in the bowl ignored 🤣

Can of Tuna? Not ideal on a regular basis because of the salt but as a one off it will be fine..

AnneElliott · 26/08/2024 21:11

Mine would have cheese if there wasn't tuna. Or they'd make do with dried food.

C1N1C · 26/08/2024 21:12

My cat would devour a jar of peanut butter!

I've never had a cat prepared to eat sunflower oil. Two of mine adored tuna. They had quite dry coats and the vet suggested tuna in sunflower oil but they wouldn't touch it (it was a long time ago so maybe the advice has changed). Current tuna addict also won't touch it - gave it by mistake!

Ham?

Loveatortie · 26/08/2024 21:23

Two of mine love a slice of toast with butter, they lick it clean. Cat 3 loves weetabix in milk, not ideal but needs must 😹
