I’ve stupidly run out of cat food and can’t get any more til the morning. I have 4 hungry cats and no cans of tuna in the cupboard.

anything I can do?!

They’ve all eaten the sardines apart from this very fussy lady who is now trying her hardest to guilt me into magicking her normal food out of thin air 🤣 somehow I think she’ll pull through

Two of mine love a slice of toast with butter, they lick it clean. Cat 3 loves weetabix in milk, not ideal but needs must 😹

That’s an idea! She loves butter

I once improvised with fish fingers.

Blueuggboots · 26/08/2024 21:33

I always have a few tins of sardines in spring water (65p from Waitrose) in the cupboards for my cats.

Love this thread some excellent pet parents.

One of my cats is a little hoover. He's particularly partial to cottage cheese.

Love this thread

mine like grated cheese but what you really need to do is try and stop them eating whatever is on your plate and they will pinch and wolf it down

Cookerhood · 26/08/2024 21:50

My cat will eat egg yolk but not egg whites!
Perhaps they could pop out for a mouse or two?

Edited

I think at least two have decided to dine out this evening… just praying I don’t discover any leftovers in the morning 🙃

Yes I have a feeling if the scrambled eggs were meant for me, they would’ve been a lot more enthusiastic about them

My cat loves scrambled egg, can you get a woosh?

What's a woosh?!

Tharshe · 26/08/2024 21:59

Mine don't like cooked eggs, but go mad for a beaten up raw egg

Thisoldheartofmine · 26/08/2024 22:02

Fish fingers - genius!

mondaytosunday · 26/08/2024 22:07

Tuna. Though one of my cats thought he'd died and gone to heaven - I thought he was going to eat the actual tin at one point. The other one just looked at it and turned away...

Toddlerteaplease · 26/08/2024 22:17

Please post in the morning op, to let us know that you are still alive!

A small out of hours shopping delivery usually in under an hour! Not sure if it's just Tesco our local one is, but that's the closest metro/local type supermarket we've got. I think they tend to come from the little express/petrol station type shops that are open when the big ones are closed

78Summer · 26/08/2024 22:22

Lovely photos. Grated cheese or plain yoghurt.

Drinkandthink · 26/08/2024 22:37

My cat likes scones/welshcakes - basically anything buttery. Ice cream, yoghurt and cheese are also very popular.

She also once got shut in a shed and tried to eat an apple.

Mine would be ok until morning but she would yowl A LOT to remind us just how on the brink of starvation she is. And she has been known to shove her bowl with her paw when particularly annoyed. Esp the water bowl as it makes more mess. (She is a highly strung bengal but still. Manners wouldn't go amiss).

ilovesooty · 26/08/2024 23:07

The cat who likes cottage cheese is also very fond of Eton Mess.

Kittensat36 · 26/08/2024 23:12

Good job you found the sardines, OP, or I am afraid you might have had to chop off a limb for them

And then they would have turned their noses up

Thisoldheartofmine · 27/08/2024 07:17

I imagine the OP is out sourcing cat food this very moment.

DP to the rescue! With an extra bag of dreamies to show them all how terribly sorry we are for putting them through such an ordeal 😂 I came down this morning and the eggs were still completely untouched. Spoiled rotten these cats.

(This is just to tide them over until we get a mega box delivered from Amazon)

Good to see they survived! Am sure they will forgive you now they have the Dreamies!
