Meet my beautiful curley haired Selkirk Rex kitten, Jasper.

He is utterly gorgeous and lovely, I'd never heard of the breed before and have never seen a curley kitten.

He is just perfect. ❤️

I agree with your mum. Jasper looks like a teddy bear. He is gorgeous. I've not heard of the breed before. Do you need to do a lot of grooming?

Not too much, apparently you can loosen their curls if you brush them too much, so a quick daily brush is enough!

He is very well behaved, he's just one of the gang now with our others!

I don't know if you have had long or curly haired cats before so I don't want to patronise but it get him used to grooming ASAP to avoid matting in his fur. Wish somone told me that with my longer haired cat!

Thank you, have been giving him a daily little brush. I have never had a long haired cat before but do have fluffy bunnies so understand the importance!

He definitely doesn't seem real, his batteries definitely weren't running out last night at 1 am though 😂

Last I saw he has a calico curly sister left... 😍

He is SUCH a cutie. As well as letting him wash himself I’d be giving him loads of treats for doing so because cats are actually evolved to fend for themselves. They like to be clean and if you tell him well done for a little bit of self care he’ll help you along.

Also am so tempted to search the calico sister! I think velvet is too spoiled for her though.

He's really good at cleaning himself, bless him, I think he's copied the others and after every meal and when he's used the litter tray he'll have a little spruce up!

5 cats is a fine number, OP, on the basis that Lick-e-lix come in boxes of five.
i have tried that argument with my husband but it hasn’t worked and so we remain a four cat household.
I have however shown him your photos of Jasper (who is utterly gorgeous) just in case!

Haha good point! Although when they're all on the same food it'll be a pain, as I usually feed them half a pouch of food each in intervals so there will always be half a pouch remaining! Does that mean i should get one more? 😬 I'm only joking, 5 is my limit. I hope Jasper will make your husband rethink your 4 cat household!

Unfortunately they are not any better for people with allergies! My OH is allergic to cats, he was quite bad a few months ago but they've settled down now. Its no excuse 😉

We used to have a Devon Rex. Your gorgeous kitten is very similar! Sooo cute

@WickWood that’s a shame but Velvet is probably too much of a princess to have an adoptive sister. Hopefully the sister gets a home to treat her as a princess too!
