Grumpy does it to poor sweet defenceless TC all the time, locking him out in the rain, cold, and snow. I bet he doesn't even apologise 😉

Be fair! He’s a bit more hairy than velvet and even if he doesn’t get draped with furry animals (V rolls about in the litter tray so she’s not allowed contact with my 30yo comfort blanket but everything else is fine). TC is probably having a ball out there but the minute we open the door it’s sad face on.

Although grumpy probably doesn’t put a pretend badger on top of tc

I suspect TC has inured me from guilty feelings about cats trying to break doors down.

Very pleases that Linney's blood results were fine. Stillnin Lurginess stakes so a bit out of synch with events. Pleased that Grumpy''s Flood has dissipated. As for Matt, Papergirl, he will be secretly delighted to have made you feel guilty and entitled to extra treats!

Frankenstein is cuddling with Raven and Toby Toad. Well, I say with, it's more like cuddling ON. I'm not sure how long Toad will put up with being a cushion.

Toby looks like the goodwill in his situ. Then we have Frankie who is plotting to kill someone and Raven? Who is just sitting on people.

I’ve just got home from the vets. I had to have our lovely dog Venus put down this afternoon.
She hadn’t been well for a few weeks and a fortnight ago they diagnosed worms but she didn’t really pick up after treatment. They scanned her this afternoon and she was full of fluid. It was either liver failure or a tumour, most likely liver failure. No point putting her though tests to diagnose it as there’s no treatment for either.
It was very quick and peaceful but I’m in pieces.

Poor you Venus. As I write incessantly on these threads they really are the ones with the easy job and we’re stuck with the hard job. She’s peaceful and easy, either sleeping a nice quiet sleep or frolicking over that rainbow bridge. Please feel free to share pictures and memories here if it would help but no pressure if you don’t want to - I do have to admit some of our Excellent Cats could probably take an example from her attitude though! As you’re posting on here it sounds like Venus was a friend to cats and a friend of cats is a friend to all (not being exclusive, a friend of many cats or even of other dogs would probably be cool too).

Little miss Velvet has spend the whole day smelling strongly of faeces (I know she looks like a baby snow leopard angel, that doesn’t ensure personal hygiene is on point). She’s now cleaner and back at her post to guard me which basically means looking up when a neighbour’s escaped dog barks hysterically right next to my room. It’s baby steps Velvet. Particularly given that her idea of a death blow is a little swoosh with claws retracted. Let’s not try Defence Against The Dark Arts yet?

The cats don't seem to have noticed, or maybe they just don't care. Venus used to try to play with Matt, who wasn't having any of it, but only sniffed with mild curiosity at Socks when she emerged from her hiding place under the bed.
I'm off to tell my neighbour who loved Venus. She will be so sad.
