......... Silent Night.........

Well, maybe not so silent when there's a cat about who wants to be fed.

Join us in the run up to Christmas 2023!

I keep visualising TC on Grumpy's boat, winding down the skull and crossbones and winding up a plain white flag, then firing off the distress beacons.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 10:01

My mother taught me to knit, with the right hand needle under the arm, to keep the knitting neat. For that reason I cannot get on with circular needles. The tension would not be right. Indeed, it wasn't right on the one occasion I tried using them.

Over the years I have successfully tackled both Fairisle and Aran jumpers/cardigans.

When DS1 was a little boy (so about 35 years ago) I knitted him a gorgeous cable waistcoat. It looked wonderful.

He lost it at After-School club after one day.
Hmm

I fear @Catsmere may have to knit a job lot of swimming costumes prior to the event.

memo to self: make sure to get lots of elastic for waistbands. The potential for disaster is too terrible to contemplate.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/01/2024 11:09

I suggest we all grow fur and solve the problem that way. @Catsmere can simply knit some decorative articles (or we could all get some of that buffalo stuff in our party bags) for when we get out of the water.

Supersimkin2 · 07/01/2024 11:11

Been sent to Coventry. No
more Dreamies until catfood taken.

Prince is DISGUSTED.

Why always washing in every pic?

RumNotRun · 07/01/2024 11:22

After years of sleep issues, this weekend I've actually managed to sleep until 9am which is practically unheard of for me these days. Of course, that leads to angry cats as their breakfast is then late.

This morning it was Toad's turn to show his annoyance. First he actually came into my bedroom to shout at me, then once we were in the kitchen, he pushed a wine glass off the counter then stared at me as if he was challenging me to say something about it. It backfired on him though as breakfast was delayed further due to me needing to sweep up the glass.

I think I am forgiven now as he is curled up next to me purring like a motorbike.

Glad your DH is doing ok, Yes.
Having a meandering river at the bottom of the garden was once one of my fantasies. Not so much now maybe, given all the flooding we are having.
My car is currently on loan to a friend who lives on the banks of the Severn and moved it to somewhere it should have been fine, only to find water lapping round the wheels when he checked on it the next day.
I'm waiting to hear from the DVLA because I should be able to drive again on 30 Jan. After two years and four months, I can't wait!

Papergirl1968 · 07/01/2024 11:53

Prince can't even bear to look at you, Super. He is the very picture of an outraged feline.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/01/2024 12:18

Glad your DH is doing ok, Yes.

Heartfelt agreement here.

I hope you can drive again soon, Paper!

JaceLancs · 07/01/2024 12:30

That's good news about your DH, Yes.

Paper, I hope you get your licence back.

Jace, I love the cat with the booze! How's Mr Finlay?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/01/2024 13:45

Good luck Paper - I still haven't got my licence back after 26 years 🙄😂

JaceLancs · 07/01/2024 14:20

@TheShellBeach Finlay is coming on leaps and bounds thank you - he is back at the orthopaedic hospital on Friday for x ray’s so will know more then
I just feel really sorry for him - crated up 20 ish hours a day even if it’s for his own good!
Before his accident he loved being outdoors - we have not only had to lock the cat flap but have now had to cover the whole door panel with a sheet of plywood as he was so desperately trying to break the plastic flap!

Like a horse on box rest - so difficult. Poor Finlay, but he’s got lovely humans doing their best and just think how amazing his first outdoor run will feel after this :)

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 14:37

Finlay is going to love it when he can go out again, @JaceLancs

He looks so - inquisitive - in those pictures.

He's a kitten, isn't he?

Just spotted this stranger on the road outside our house. Never seen him before - hope he's not lost amidst the flooding. (couldn't get close enough to him to check his collar)

Owner identified (via the street whatsapp group).
Can be good this technology stuff 😸

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/01/2024 15:32

Good job!
if technology doesn’t do just put out a bit of food. Even if the cat hates it a local fox will love it!

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/01/2024 15:35

Re Finlay - I think he looks juvenile too. Would you agree he and velvet look a similar age? You’re taking super care of him and it’s really frustrating for them to have to be restrained. But bless him. Fingers and paws crossed here that his recovery is full and not unnecessarily bad.

RumNotRun · 07/01/2024 16:43

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats That is a magnificent looking cat. I wonder if it's a boy or girl? Are we going to have a second TC in 2024? 🤞🤞🤞

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 07/01/2024 16:55

I thought he was rather impressive. Been told mum was a Persian, dad unknown.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 16:57

What is Linney doing here?

He's like a cross between TC and Sybil.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 07/01/2024 17:32

It's my chair now.
