She went very peacefully on my knee. The vet agreed it was the right time. She was the most amazing furball. I'll miss her terribly.

I’m so sorry. She was looking very poorly at the end though. It was absolutely the right time.

TheLongRider · 05/08/2023 22:02

I'm so sorry, she was such a character. She was so loved by you and she loved you in return. You gave her such a good and happy life. She will always be a Litter Tray legend.

ChelseaGem · 05/08/2023 22:35

So sad. You took the best care of Magic.

(I did not realise that Magic was Snorg!)

So sorry and sending love ❤️

Allergictoironing · 06/08/2023 08:42

Only just seen this, so sorry Toddler.

All of us who have had the same thing this year have questioned ourselves both before and after whether the time was right, I think it was just the cat parent inside thinking that we should or could have done more even though we knew we did everything possible. I booked Boycat in 2 weeks before the date and nearly cancelled it twice thinking "maybe he'll be OK a few weeks longer", but it was the rate he'd been deteriorating at that decided me.

And I think you need to bear that in mind with the adorable Snorg. She had gone from 100% perfect (minus one eye) to skinny & scruffy so quickly, leaving things any longer would have been risking her getting worse even more quickly.

She will be with her boyfriend and sister, and as a cat loved by the Church and Ministers she's sure to have angels cooing over her right now.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/08/2023 08:53

The house is so quiet, without her. For such a small cat, she was very heavy footed. I could always here her moving around,

So sorry @Toddlerteaplease 💐💐💐

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 06/08/2023 10:05

You don’t realise how much space they take up until they go. It’s just horrible.

Soubriquet · 06/08/2023 10:06

I’m really sorry Toddler. It will take time to adjust. Take care of yourself x

learieonthewildmoor · 06/08/2023 10:17

Ah, that’s so sad. Deepest sympathy.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/08/2023 13:52

I'm on nights so keep excepting to hear her come in for a snuggle. The silence is deafening.

When Asbo died the silence was deafening. I cried everyday for 18m and still curse whoever ran him over and drove off like he was nothing.

You gave her the best life.

Snooks1971 · 06/08/2023 19:12

I’m so, so sorry to read this ❤️ please forgive me if I’m wrong but I think you’re the reason that I have a standing order every month to Mansfield Rescue for the legacy of Len x

VinEtFromage · 06/08/2023 19:21

@Toddlerteaplease

I'm SO sorry 😢 xx

(I'm a name changer these days, sorry, but I've been a Cheddar & Snorg fan for a long time).

you've haven't PTS too early. When you can cope with looking at recent photos, you'll soon see how frail & poorly she'd become. She 'went to sleep' peacefully with you, no more pain, just love.

xx

Toddlerteaplease · 06/08/2023 19:32

@Snooks1971 yes that was me. I also have one too!

My friend who saw her Thursday Friday was shocked at how sick she looked. He hasn't seen her for a while.

Cheddar seems a bit knelt on her own. She's never been alone before.

@Toddlerteaplease I've also been supporting MCR in memory of Len because of you. No one could doubt the love you had for Snorg (and Maia) and the support you've shown us all in difficult times.

Evvyjb · 06/08/2023 19:45

Oh Snorg! @Toddlerteaplease you have loved her the absolute best right until the end. I've never really engaged online but also have a MCR standing order...

Thinking of you x

Snooks1971 · 06/08/2023 20:05

@Toddlerteaplease thought so (re Len) and I salute you for sharing Len ❤️
Bereft here too after having our beloved rescue dog put to sleep last Thursday. 19yr old cat hasn’t really noticed.
God I adore our beautiful animals. Such a privilege to have them. Take care x
