Taking her to the vet tomorrow, to see what they say about her weight loss. Will get her bloods done. As she looks absolutely shocking. Although well in herself and her eye is bright.
Bloods were ok in February. Best case scenario is that it's just old age. She's 13. But I'm fully prepared for it to be something sinister.
Photos taken by the cattery they are at. Currently, as I've been on holiday. She does usually look awful in their photos though!)

I don't know what normal bales are. Only comparing them to the late Maia, who'd creatinine was 489 and off the scale. Cheddar is feeling left out if this thread do wants me to post a pic of her.

I love seeing pictures of your two, they look so grumpy it's adorable. Give them both lots of love from the tribe. Feel better soon Snorg.x

Dropped her off for her scan. They asked me if I wanted CPR if she had a cardiac arrest. Never been asked that before so it threw me off completely. Being a human nurse I know how brutal It is. So not sure I want that for her. Eventually decided on one round then stop. Hopefully it won't be an issue!

Good grief, that would floor me too!

AllTheOtherCats · 03/08/2023 09:37

Thinking of you and Snorg today. Hope it all goes well 😽

SunnieShine · 03/08/2023 09:38

All paws and fingers crossed here too. Its SO stressful when pets are unwell.

TattyOne · 03/08/2023 09:57

Oh, gorgeous lady Snorg, I'm so sorry, as a life-long cat fanatic and who currently have one who I absolutely worship, I'm sorry to hear of your ailments.

I hope you get better real soon, sweetie pie.

Love you loads and am thinking of you. X

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2023 10:32

If they do find something, this is Snorg. So it will be rare and it straight forward. She doesn't do normal!

What's the news. @Toddlerteaplease ?

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2023 10:37

Not heard yet, the vet who was doing the scan was starting later and I think she will be done around lunchtime. No doubt she's getting lots of fuss and cuddles. Everyone who meets her loves her.

Florissante · 03/08/2023 12:18

Fingers crossed for good news.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2023 15:31

So In true magic style, her intestines don't look Normal and are quite distended. There is also very little peristalsis. So I think they are thinking some sort of inflammatory bowel condition. Or just old cat bowels. Going to give her some steroids to see if it helps. Not much else they can do. There are some bright spots on her kidders which they think might be crystals. Will see how she goes and will know when it's time.

Hmmm. Kind of a mixed message, isn't it?

LostCats · 03/08/2023 16:44

Ahh I’m sorry Toddler. I was hoping for it to be easier for you and her.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 03/08/2023 17:10

I was hoping it would be nothing too.

FrivolousTreeDuck · 03/08/2023 17:22

I hope the steroids help. My old boy kept going for two years on steroids when he had kidney problems.

TokyoSushi · 03/08/2023 17:30

Oh I do have a soft spot for Cheddar and Snorg!

Hope Snorg is fighting fit again soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2023 17:30

Yep. I was expecting either nothing, or something a bit more definite. Like a tumour.. I don't really know the long term. But I suspect it's pretty much palliative. She's not unwell in herself at all. But I will know when it's time.

nettie434 · 03/08/2023 18:34

I am sorry it's not better news. Hoping the steroids help.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2023 19:23

My gut instinct was that we are nearing the end. But she's had a great life and she's been so loved. She's also still being naughty so that's a good sign.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/08/2023 10:04

Really not sure how she is. She's weed on my bed. She's never ever fine this ever. And I'm really not sure if she's in pain and trying to hide it. Going to the vets at 3. To see what they say.
