I did not know that cats humped

I've had cats all my life. I adopted a cat a few months ago. He was a stray, is believed to be around 4 years old, and was already neutered when brought into the cats protection. He's a lovely cat, and has settled in fine, but I only today noticed that he humps blankets. He likes to hold the blankets in his mouth, knead with his paws and purr. I thought this was quite cute, but then I noticed that he mounted the scrunched up blanket, and was humping it! I genuinely didn't know this was a thing with cats.

All wanky blankys get washed here, as do all their beds. Not sure if there is any secretions if I'm honest. The fact that he likes me to watch is enough without sniffing his "girlfriend"

Elderly boy cat humps. Usually starts in his sleep, wakes himself up, looks confused as to what just/is happening, gets up and wanders off in search of food. Sometimes his (neutered and equally elderly sister) get head humped as they sleep ying/Yang style - then she either growls at him or bites him. He still wears a look of confusion.

Yep same for my DCat about 20 times a day the Randy old man!! I swear that Cat and his blanket see way more action than I do Other things also used. My blanket, my dressing gown and my fleecy onesie and my teddy bedding. All of which he will slobber all over at the same time and I end up putting my hand in a wet soggy patch.

I sadly lost one of my cats last year at only 9. Before he got neutered, he liked to hump my hand (this was not encouraged for obvious reasons) once he was neutered he started dry humping his sister (who I still have) which is usually a dominance behaviour. Now another one of my cats is partaking in this pastime (eye contact see page 1 of this thread) and I've just caught the youngest kitten on top of his VERY fluffy "brother" so I might be attracting sex pest cats! All my cats are neutered between 6-9 months old.

What with wanky blankies & Steptoe voices, to name but a few, this thread is brilliant 🤣

Well, that’s where kittens come from. No harm in trying , I suppose.

My old boy used to have relations with a slipper. Didn’t require an audience but he would carry it upstairs after he was done. 😆

My D rescue cat was with a foster family whilst she raised her kittens and before I adopted her. In between having the kittens and getting spayed she took a liking to the foster mum’s cuddly toy monkey. Too much of a liking…when I took her home Mr Monkey apparently had a long hot soak to get over the ordeal

My old BSH humps the air while staring at us with a confused look on his face, like his body has been taken over and he has no power over what’s happening.

I thought I was alone in having a cat with this diabolical behaviour! The first time this happened, there was I on the sofa when ‘Dodgy Dave’ jumped up on me. Started padding the blanket and I’m giving him a head rub (not that type! Keep your minds out the gutter!) when he started having these little shakes. All the time looking at me!
I thought noooo he’s not is he?! Well let me tell
you he is was! Wanky blankly went straight in the washing machine. If Dave jumps on me now, I have to whip wanky blankly away. I adopted him from a rescue neutered, so I think he must have been getting some before he was rescued.

2.5 neutered male humps my arm if I'm wearing long sleeves with a cuff , it usually lasts less than 30 secs and seems to comfort him. Who ain't been there girlfriend?!?!?

Lol at wanky blanket, our bot took an unnatural liking to one of my dd’s my little pony’s.. I had to remove it from circulation when I realised why he’s been up to with it 😂🤮

He's at it again with the Christmas blankets now! Shagged himself out
