Title says it all really. Many thanks in advance. She's about 1 1/2. We let her go in the garden. I think she might make herself sick by chewing plants. We've already tried changing her food once. She's currently on Purina, wet and dry.

Our Persians are also delicate. They eat Royal Canin Persian dry food and a little cooked chicken here and there. Everything else makes them sick.

pastaandpesto · 01/07/2022 12:25

Our 1 year old ragdoll has a mix of Untamed and KatKin. He's only ever been sick once, when he was very young and I think must have bolted his food.

GMH1974 · 01/07/2022 12:32

Where do you buy their food? I was buying Royal Canin online because I couldn't find it in the shops and it was exorbitant.

We have a Devon Rex who is doing well with Royal Canin Sensible. Might be worth checking with your vet and having a stool sample tested - our cat didn't have any gastrointestinal issues as such, but has been so much better with Omeprazole.

StarDolphins · 01/07/2022 12:39

I’ve fed all my Persian in Royal Canin😃

SwelegantParty · 01/07/2022 12:41

If she's chewing plants to make herself sick, it could be due to hair balls - they swallow a lot of hair when grooming. My old lady isn't a rag doll, but she does have long hair and hates being groomed. You can get a paste which helps the hair balls go through instead of being sicked up, if they won't just eat it, put it on their front leg and they'll lick it off.

Gingerkittykat · 01/07/2022 12:46

I feed Royal Canin ragdoll and my girl almost never has stomach upsets.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/07/2022 13:08

My first Persians got on absolutely fine with Royal canin Persian. But cheddar my
Third, can't tolerate any RC so swapped them both to Iams and she's Been ok on all varieties of that except the senior one. It gave her colitis for some reason.

Ps. All Persian owners are required to post pics.

I have one Ragdoll that has always been fine with any food.

The other not. He's constantly vomitting. He often has wet poos too. At the minute we're trying Hills d/d prescription dry food on vets recommendation as it's so plain (they think he might have a sensitivity to something so trying a very plain diet). So far though he's had a bit of blood in his poo sometimes, as though he's strained. Vet said to try it for 6 weeks. We've tried so many different foods😮‍💨

This little ragdoll eats everything and rarely throws up. He's indoor and lives with 3 other cats.
His main diet is GoCat with felix or whiskers sachets

One of our Maine Coons had a delicate stomach, and did best on Royal Canin Sensible.

mosesbass · 01/07/2022 15:51

Our rag dolls are fine on whiskas and gocat

peepee123 · 01/07/2022 15:57

Our gorgeous ragdoll has Costco's dry food. Never had a bad tummy.

RedRobyn2021 · 01/07/2022 15:59

Is it sick or is it hairballs?

Yorkshirebred · 01/07/2022 16:06

My Maine Coons are on Royal Canin dry food for their breed and wet pouches of Sheba.

peonyjam · 01/07/2022 16:36

Royal canin ragdoll from Zoopla usually (I think that's what it's called) she has gone through phases of having an upset stomach but after several tests at the vet there was no real reason for it. It resolved itself. She also gets wet food, but not every day. She will often choose her kibble over wet food.

GMH1974 · 01/07/2022 16:56

It's sick not hairballs and she often has diarrhoea too which is why we're fairly convinced it's the food.

Yes we had trouble with ours as a wee kitten, she has settled on Iams dry good now though. Pedigrees are buggers for stomach upsets - same with my dog actually (golden retriever).

mazylou · 01/07/2022 21:19

Definitely worth a vet trip surely. Our
litter tray used to be eye watering, it's much better since medication.

Gingerkittykat · 01/07/2022 21:22

Do you use prokolin when she has diarrhoea? It always works really quickly and is the first thing the vet would give, you can buy it on Amazon for a fraction of the price the vet will charge you.

OddsandSods · 01/07/2022 21:25

Royal canin vet gastro. You can buy online. It’s turned around many fail to thrive cats. The coats are lovely too.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 01/07/2022 21:30

Our British blue is on Gourmet wet and her dry food is from Pets at Home, think it’s called Wainwright's.

FairyCakeSprinkles · 01/07/2022 22:04

Royal Canin Ragdoll from ZooPlus.

My male raggie is awful for eating plants. I'm trying to convince him to go for the kitty grass instead. I've also got an amazing fur rake comb which gets to much of the undercoat out. That helps a lot with hair balls.

Gingerwarthog · 01/07/2022 22:11

Royal Canin here too.
I was feeding them wet food but didn't agree with them.
