Thanks... it was from Next about 7 years ago and is either my son's or Kipling's chair unless my Mum is visiting... it doubles as a scratching post for all three furry overlords 😾 so is somewhat frayed at the edges...

Supersimkin2 · 15/01/2022 20:22

Any stuffed furniture looks miles smarter the moment it’s a bit ‘loved’. No one aspires to the Premier Inn look.

Kipling is lush.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 15/01/2022 20:33

I have some cat friendly herb infused toy things to test in labelled tubs

Ollie practically has a lab coat on and is berating paws "you're not taking it SERIOUSLY stinky!"
He is sat sniffing each one quite happily, paws got distracted by the clean litter tray which he is now rolling around in

I went to have a shower and discovered one of mine has done a poo in the shower tray. They have taken to doing this when they feel the litter tray needs changing. They don't need to be able to talk - they are very good at communicating their thoughts without it! Hmm

@Allergictoironing re my friend who was recently diagnosed with ADHD, she said her GP sent her to a psychiatrist or psychologist, I can't remember which, sorry, and she had to do an in depth assessment consisting of answering a lot of questions.
She did say the menopause and also some medications she's taking for health issues have made her ADHD worse lately. She has done a lot reading up on it and believes sugar affects it too, so she has tried to cut down on eating sweet things.
Even before diagnosis she had developed coping strategies like making lists. She believes people with ADHD are often very creative.I
I wouldn't be surprised to find out I had it too, but that could just be lockdown and the effect of mobile phones affecting a lot of people's concentration.

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 15/01/2022 22:05

Thanks @Supersimkin2 ... he's a big, cuddly sook really, unless you try to brush him!

Allergictoironing · 15/01/2022 22:18

Thank you @Papergirl1968, that's the path I'm going to take & have already spoken to my GP just yesterday. Well past menopause so that wouldn't be affecting me, and no real changes to any drugs I'm on, though I've been generally better lately due to life changes.

Interestingly, my DBro said he discovered that anti depressants are often contra indicated, so if I DO get a diagnosis & treatment I may well be able to come off those Smile. I am NOT reducing my sugar intake for anybody however!

I too have developed coping strategies like lists, diarising everything possible etc - I think those are the only things I didn't mark as "frequent" or "very frequent" on the questionnaire!

Supersimkin2 · 15/01/2022 22:32

Matt I’m betting Paper, he’s a very brainy boy.

Betsy does this in the kitchen if her tray hadn't been cleaned quickly enough.

It's her version of a dirty protest.

You mean all the attempted murder attempts using a brush?

Basil behaves in a much more civilised manner at the breakfast table than Sybil. He's sitting politely on Mrs Grumpy's lap this morning allowing her full access to breakfast and coffee. Grin

Amateur 😹 Sybil’s a professional cat.

Puddy is using my iPad to watch videos so I’m on my phone. She’s very interested in rabbits but I think they’d be bringing her home by the scruff.

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 16/01/2022 09:59

Hmm, Wanda has become obsessed by butter and now recognises the sound of a knife spreading it on toast and appears in an instant...

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/01/2022 10:01

Butter, porridge, marmite, cereal, toast, milk, fry up...
Anything breakfasty attracts Basil and Sybil like a magnet Grin

Allergictoironing · 16/01/2022 10:20

Boycat has dicovered Ardennes pate. After ignoring it for nearly 6 years, he suddenly appeared by me as I was snacking on (cheap) pate & biscuits giving his begging "huffing" noise - usually used for cuddles, as he isn't into human food usually.

I allowed him to have a small amount; not due to parsimoniousness but I doubt it's that good for him. Often one or t'other cat will hint that they would like to try my food, but 9/10 they sniff, give me a dirty look & stalk off. This time he devoured it with great relish Grin

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 16/01/2022 11:42

My first cat was mad for pate... when she was 19 years old she developed liver problems (unsurprisingly given age)... conventional wisdom would be to avoid such high protein foods but my sensible vet said to give her whatever she wanted to eat at her age as she clearly wasn't going to live forever... she spent the next 3 months enjoying her pate and lots of cuddles and when she one day decided she didn't want either that we knew it was time to let her go...

SpookyScarySkeletons · 16/01/2022 12:01

Both of mine go crazy for marmite. Ivy will try to bite the toast as you are putting it in your mouth!!

They are still doing the crazy raptor thing and circling me hungrily whenever I open my own tablets even though Ivy finished her antibiotics over a week ago 😂

Supersimkin2 · 16/01/2022 13:18

Capns just scampered across the room and jumped for joy.

In 2 weeks it will be 6 months since the heart attack that should have finished him.

In that time he’s fought and won two larger younger cats, evicted cat burglars, obtained luxury foodstuffs without the owner’s consent, made a larder under the bed, and taught me how to feed on demand.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/01/2022 13:28

He's certainly living life to the full Grin.
Did you ever find the source of the ham?

Aww love this!!

It's also 2 and a half years since Ivy miraculously survived a poisoning. 14 days in hospital with stage 4 kidney injury! Wouldn't believe it now.

And yes have we found out where that ham came from yet???

Supersimkin2 · 16/01/2022 15:40

I can barely leave the house from fear of becoming The Cold Cuts pariah of SW4.

Ignorance is bliss. He’s snoring on top of the larder at the mo, snuggled into his duvet.

Martha is like a dog when it comes to food; she will eat anything. She loves prawns, salmon and roast meats the most.

Puddy was not happy to have her bum checked for danglers last night so she ran over and bit dh. Then she scratched him. I suppose while your down there rolled over you might as well do both.
