What breed is my new cat?

The vet really isn't sure; she is not quite siamese looking - her face isn't pointy enough. And possibly her legs aren't long enough.....

Tonkinese has been suggested or a siamese cross

Any thoughts?

I'd say definitely a Siamese cross. But crossed with what, I have no idea!

QueenOfThorns · 25/03/2021 17:52

No idea, but she’s beautiful!

poshtonic · 25/03/2021 17:52

She's absolutely gorgeous whatever she is!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 25/03/2021 17:54

No idea! But she's absolutely gorgeous!! What are you going to call her?

ChequerBoard · 25/03/2021 18:03

Looks like a blue tonkinese (siamese x burmese)

Stunningly beautiful lady!

ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn · 25/03/2021 18:16

She looks to me like how Siamese used to look 30 odd years ago, whereas their features often seem exaggerated these days compared to then.

She is lovely.

KatyMac · 25/03/2021 21:45

Old siamese has been mentioned a lot!

She has a name - Willow - but I want to call her Dora, cos she is 'dorable

I have Tonks - they have very long thin legs and are v v active. They have much pointier faces than yours. I would think a Siamese cross. She is very beautiful though and just change her name.

Lonecatwithkitten · 26/03/2021 07:01

My colleague had two blue Burmese that looked like her.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 26/03/2021 07:02

Looks Burmese to me! Beautiful!
Is she very friendly?

KatyMac · 26/03/2021 08:32

Maybe she is unique Grin

She knows her name so I think she will stay Willow

Shellingbynight · 26/03/2021 20:33

I don't think she's Burmese (I have several Burmese cats). Her eyes are not right for a Burmese. The eyes look much more Siamese, but the coat colour doesn't look quite right (although hard to tell in a pic) so maybe Tonkinese. She's lovely!

If you want more guesses, it might help to see some more pics so we can see her full body properly, so body shape plus colouring. And any excuse for more pics of course Smile

expectopelargonium · 26/03/2021 20:39

Siamese/burmese cross maybe. She's beautiful.

KatyMac · 26/03/2021 22:57

Not sure it really matters!

KatyMac · 26/03/2021 22:59

She is such a princess!

EmmaC78 · 27/03/2021 22:19

I think Siamese too, I have had a few Siamese and they don't always have the pointy face.

supercatlady · 27/03/2021 22:33

She has a rag doll look to her

Furries · 28/03/2021 04:35

Whatever her ancestry, she’s blooming gorgeous! Feel free t9 post loads more photos, we really won’t mind 🤣

elp30 · 28/03/2021 05:18

She's so pretty 🤩
I love that you're going to call her "Dora"

More photos please!

Parkerwhereareyou · 28/03/2021 06:52

Old style Siamese but her face is slightly narrow/long maybe for that totally?

Parkerwhereareyou · 28/03/2021 06:52

No she's not Burmese.

sashh · 28/03/2021 07:41

She's lovely. Is that a breed? Maybe it should be.

RickOShay · 28/03/2021 07:46

@KatyMac I think she definitely has burmese in her, but agree we need more pics Smile
@Shellingbynight I have two cats that I think are burmese, two sisters, one is grey and one has Siamese colouring, is that possible?

ChequerBoard · 28/03/2021 11:30

More than likely your two sister cats are a Tonkinese. Tonks are literally a cross of SIamese x Burmese. In any litter (except a first generation cross) you will get some kittens that are colourpoint (siamese) coat pattern, some solid (Burmese) coat pattern and some Tonkinese coat pattern which is a mix of the two. Therefore totally possible to have two sisters with completely different coat patterns.
