Should I take my cat to the vet?

Since yesterday she has been very lethargic, not wanting to move much at all.
She has vomited bile several times
She hasn't been to the toilet at all
I haven't seen her eat or drink
She has suddenly started snoring (doesn't sound like human snoring, like she's sighing on every out breath)

Yes. As soon as possible!

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2020 06:49

Emergency vet now!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 07:02

Which symptom is concerning you the most?

OP posts:
MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 07:20

I only ask because the internet says that it is common for cats to vomit

Lobsterquadrille2 · 13/07/2020 07:20

All of them. Is it difficult for you to take her? Mine was lethargic once after I gave her some dreaded Bob Martin flea stuff and I posted on here and sat up all night with her (advice on here was fabulous and if not for that I would have taken her to the out of hours vet). Please take her.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 07:21

I will, tbh theres no way i'm not. She's really worrying me.

Really hope she's ok.

Daisydoesnt · 13/07/2020 07:24

OP do it now - don’t wait for the surgery to open, you need an emergency vet/ appointment. Your cat could be desperately ill.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2020 07:26

All the symptoms are concerning. She sounds very ill.

ElizabethMainwaring · 13/07/2020 07:27

Hope she's okay. Let us know how you get on please.Flowers

Hotwaterbottlelove · 13/07/2020 07:31

Yes you take her!!! Cat vomit their food or hair balls often. Vomiting enough that there is only bile is really scary. Poor thing. I hope they are able to instantly help.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2020 07:32

Yep, all those symptoms need looking at. Animals don’t just stop eating.

milienhaus · 13/07/2020 07:35

I read somewhere that a cat vomiting once or twice a month is fine (I was worried the first time my cat vomited). Multiple times in one day is definitely a vet scenario.

LittleCabbage · 13/07/2020 07:53

Her breathing sounds v worrying. (I am a vet).

Wolfiefan · 13/07/2020 07:56

I do hope the vet can see her soon. Good luck OP.

Littlemeadow123 · 13/07/2020 08:02

Definitely a vet's situation. I hope she's ok

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 08:22

They didn't have any appointments until 5.30pm but said to bring her in this morning and they'll try to see her anyway. Her breathing isn't noisy anymore, now she's awake.

VictoriaBun · 13/07/2020 15:45

How did your appointment go ?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 16:06

Not good. Sad

Oldestchild90s · 13/07/2020 16:06

What did they say op?

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 13/07/2020 16:07

So sorry to hear that xx

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2020 16:10

Oh dear, is there anyone with you?.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 13/07/2020 16:33

She's in acute kidney failure. Her 'levels' are the worst they've seen and her prognosis is a disaster.

I took her to the vet last year and her bloods were almost fine, they said she might be in early stages but nothing very symptomatic, they weren't worried and she's been on Renal diet food. The sudden change is hard to understand - they asked if we have Lillies at home and we don't. She's an indoor cat and hasn't had the opportunity to eat anything she shouldn't, plus she's a fussy bugger, I couldn't get her to eat tuna 'cos it's not Sheba or Science plan kibble.

DH is home but he's in as bad a state as me! For someone who 'doesn't like the cat' Hmm
