Lucky little kittens

These are my latest foster kittens. They were found in a skip this morning. One of them was so cold his temperature didn’t register on the thermometer. All that was needed was a phone call, a text or a message and we would have picked them up, why put them in a skip to die instead?

And they have Scottish scents, by the way (or they would have if they weren’t totally silent).

Accents not scents, my phone can’t spell. It also insists that protection is actually Protecrion every single time.

Currently mind-playing a Scottish Hiss!

Definitely think they should be adopted as a pair.

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 12/11/2019 08:14

Awwwww. I wish I wish. I've been trying to post a photo as when I adopted my two nearly 18 years ago they looked exactly the same. It won't post for some reason. Although i think my ging boy is fluffier than your little one. I'd love to have them, but couldn't put my old boy through the trauma of kittens. He just wants a quiet life now and struggles with arthritis bless him.

chemenger · 12/11/2019 08:15

It’s a very tiny hiss, but sincerely meant.

He might be part Tiny-Scottish-Wildcat

Has he got tufty ears ?
If so, he might haul in his wildcat side next time you approach him with the BumCloth.

I am now even more Angry at them being dumped in a skip, (I'm the the SE our temperatures haven't dipped ) your overnight temperatures must be below 0c now .

chemenger · 12/11/2019 08:48

It was -2 the night they were out.

Remember the thread where the lady travelled from way up north to way down south to adopt a cat? It was riveting. This could go the same way.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/11/2019 21:56

Oh Good God. How could anyone possibly do that. There are definitely some evil twisted scum bags on this planet.
How old are they about. You also think about their poor mummy pining for her babies and them for her.
Thank God you found them.
They’re adorable btw. I was going to say. Is there anyone who doesn’t adore kittens, but Yes clearly there are. The cunts who did this.

chemenger · 12/11/2019 22:00

I have seven home visits lined up for them already, I think we’ll find them a good home. They’re chomping down kitten food now and we had the first meow, when the grey one bit the ginger one’s tail. And, thankfully, we have a clean bottom, no more cling-ons and the threat of a Bath is lifted.

There is no way you won’t find them a great home. They are sooo cute and I know you will be super picky. (As you should!!)
Wishing them many many happy years. I still call our rescues the kittens. They are rapidly heading for half a decade. Confused

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/11/2019 22:05

Oh I love their little meows. Like a new born baby’s cry. Oh I’d end up eating them.
What can I say I have chronic cure aggression. Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2019 11:14

When are planning to re-home the kittens?

It must be hard at this time of year , but if you find a home where the Christmas celebrations are low key , it might work out well, people at home etc.
They'll be maybe 11 weeks by Christmas .

Good luck with the potential owner viewings .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2019 11:17

Oh I’d end up eating them

Not much meat there . Our lardy adults do that cute thing where they tuck their front legs under the chest and their hips slightly bow out .

It's the Oven Ready Chicken Pose .
.

chemenger · 15/11/2019 11:49

I have been up to my ears doing home visits for our current crop of kittens. There will be time to get them adopted before our Christmas cut off. They can go once they have their first vaccination in about three weeks.

Are they eating / drinking and a bit less timid now, OP?

chemenger · 16/11/2019 22:35

They are doing really well, eating what seems like their own body weight every day, mountaineering over the sofa, fighting and playing with balls of paper. Still nervous and the litter tray is a bit hit or miss. Despite stuffing themselves they’re skinny little things but getting better every day. I have found them an amazing adopter now as well, so it’s all looking rosy for them.

Oh my heart.

onthecoins · 16/11/2019 22:47

Oh, they really are beautiful. The grey one is definitely part wild!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 22:50

Aw little lambs . When you think , last week they were pulled from a skip , this week they have a good, fruitful life ahead of them, full of love and respect for them.

Well done for turning their lives round and making them into sociable little kittens ready for their next stage .

Do you give them names (don't say them on here if you want to keep them low key)
We always change our animals names , we had eight guinea pigs and now the two cats . We knew the four sows names and the two cats ( not the four boars) . They have a New Name for their New Life

I'm sure the litter tray will 'click' .

PixieDustt · 16/11/2019 23:46

Omg they're so adorable.
Their story is sad but I'm glad they get to go to a furever home 🥰

Bezalelle · 17/11/2019 05:54

Gorgeous kitties!

My cat was found in a bin 😭. He's now a huge healthy beast.

Youngatheart00 · 17/11/2019 08:51

Oh look at them, they are absolutely gorgeous and you have done a wonderful job. So pleased to hear they have an adoption lined up too.

chemenger · 23/11/2019 10:08

Just to update you all, they are now proper little hooligans, racing around the place, climbing the furniture and generally causing mayhem. One of them has yet to master the litter tray but is getting closer. They seem to grow overnight. They’re not very friendly, still quite wary of people but they’re still very small. I’ll be able to spend more time with them next week so hopefully we can work on trust. Another week or so and they will get their vaccinations and then they’ll be off to their new home.

How did I miss this? They look lovely. I despair of the human race too-the lack of responsibility and care from some is just ridiculous. As for those who are downright cruel....
Strangely people think dumping a cat in a carrier outside an animal shelter is ok. The one I volunteer at is on a main road so not exactly a safe place as anyone could pick the cat up. They often have burns on their paws from lying in their urine too.
