OK so firstly if this is in relationships sorry.. I cannot for the life of me seem to change so can it be moved if so?!

So I get back from a dreadful holiday last night and park my car.. Step out and my drive is covered in poo..when I say covered I mean 2 weeks of piles.. Everywhere😞 old, some fresh.. Looks like cats but?
I have a camera on the drive and for some reason it's detected everything but?
What on earth do I do? I've lived here 3 years or so and never had this.. How do you deter/stop this awful habit?
Anyone any ideas?!

If it’s cats then you could try one of those ultrasonic repellents. Not sure how effective they are but maybe worth a go? Amazon will sell them.

There’ll be at least a couple of cats fighting over territory in your neighbourhood, which is what the crapping is about.

Broken11Girl · 14/10/2019 08:24

Ha, love that this is on relationships Grin message MNHQ to move it.
If it's that much poop, could it be a nasty antisocial person dumping it?
Otherwise, probably foxes. Is there anything eg full slightly open bins that could attract wildlife? With the combination of that and you being gone, it might be the case that your drive was fox party central.

TheQueef · 14/10/2019 08:26

Sounds like someone is allowing their dog to shit there.
Cats don't like hard standing so a cat would go where they can dig.

TheQueef · 14/10/2019 08:27

Oh and LTB obvs.

Broken11Girl · 14/10/2019 08:29

It won't be cats, much as MN hates them Hmm They bury poop, certainly don't just do it in the open, and they don't poop in a territorial way. One cat will produce one small 'pile' a day, it wouldn't be noticeable.

LipSyncForYourLife · 14/10/2019 08:33

The postman?

CaptainMyCaptain · 14/10/2019 08:34

It could be a cat. We had the same problem at the bottom of our cul de sac, on the roads where people park. When the owners of that particular cat moved away the problem stopped. I didn't think cats pooed on hard surfaces either until this.

MissPepper8 · 14/10/2019 08:41

Depends how big the poop is 😂?

What is your drive made of? We have a solid surface drive and then my front is made of gravel and I've never had a problem with cats doing it there but people letting their bloody dogs do it when they walk them.

Cats only use our garden, but a cat will use the same place over and over. If it's a solid surface is going to be tricky but if it's gravel you can buy cat repellant granules ect if you Google and I think we once got citrus liquid stuff from b and q.

RubyMurrayCat · 14/10/2019 08:44

Hedgehogs?

Twirlypoos · 14/10/2019 08:44

Hedgehogs poo in the open and make huge turds for their size, other wise, cats, foxes, we get badger and muntjac poo too, obviously a poo magnet... have you asked the neighbours(not suggesting its them😂)

ilovetofu · 14/10/2019 08:46

Fox?

stayathomegardener · 14/10/2019 08:46

Photo please for identification purposes.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 14/10/2019 08:48

Cats do shit in the open if they're involved in a territorial dispute with another, aggressive, dominant cat. They will do it deliberately, so it's quite possible that a drive could be covered in it after a few weeks.

The OW?

DailyMailcanfuckthefuckoff · 14/10/2019 08:55

It could be foxes. I parked my car outside my flat once (the communal bins are in a space next to my parking space, it was bin day the next morning, and I thought it might make life easier for everyone) - the foxes obviously enjoyed the warmth of my car hood as it was COVERED in shit the next morning! Big stinky ones all over; four or five massive turds if I remember correctly. Never again!

rhubarb39 · 14/10/2019 09:00

Lol at the postman!
It's more confusing because the cameras missing it, yet it does pick up cats so thinking about it it eliminates them.. However they do poo on my matting in the back garden so will poo on hard surfaces.. The drive is concrete though?!..
I'll post a pic later..ive just cleaned up 2 piles.. Happened around 7 as can see its appeared on footage but not the culprit.. V odd.

Here's hoping it's not @sarahjconnor's persistant office-visitor shitter Grin that thread was absolutely glorious.

PumpkinP · 14/10/2019 09:07

It isn’t cats, it’s foxes, they were doing the exact same thing literally on my front door step every night in the summer! By morning it was covered in maggots, it was vile.

FoodWoes · 14/10/2019 09:10

We had a local 'shitter'.

He would poop outside shops and on people's drives.

CCTV of him was posted on a local FB page and he stopped.

Kinda miss the antics of the Shitter.

rhubarb39 · 14/10/2019 09:12

Pumpkin thanks.. OK so any ideas what to do.. What did you do?!..its disgusting.
Last night I obviously drove through it all.. Cars wheels now caked in it😩

milliefiori · 14/10/2019 09:14

Probably foxes. Almost black but otherwise very similar to cat poo. never covere their tracks. They use it to mark their territory.

DinoSn0re · 14/10/2019 09:23

Cats definitely do crap on hard surfaces, we had a major problem with warring cats doing it on our driveway for a while. Caught on our camera so it was definitely cats. An ultrasonic alarm thing solved that problem. If it’s not cats, probably foxes or some delightful person is allowing their dog to mess on your driveway. Seen that happen too!

DinoSn0re · 14/10/2019 09:25

I’m amazed by hedgehog poo being the same size as cats. Our visiting hedgehog leaves tiny poos. Perhaps I should put some food out for him!

Sable4 · 14/10/2019 09:29

It won’t be a cat. They use soil. Much more likely to be foxes. We get it a lot especially in the summer.
