OK so firstly if this is in relationships sorry.. I cannot for the life of me seem to change so can it be moved if so?!

So I get back from a dreadful holiday last night and park my car.. Step out and my drive is covered in poo..when I say covered I mean 2 weeks of piles.. Everywhere😞 old, some fresh.. Looks like cats but?
I have a camera on the drive and for some reason it's detected everything but?
What on earth do I do? I've lived here 3 years or so and never had this.. How do you deter/stop this awful habit?
Anyone any ideas?!

Put 'Fox repellent' into the search bar on Amazon.
It should deter all animals.
Gotta be worth a go.
I got one but never used it as I got a puppy!
So no idea how good they are.
Just get one with really good reviews.

I love all these "Can't possibly be a cat, they always bury/cover their poo" posts, I wish that were true!
Our gardens front and back are pooed on regularly by cats, in the open, with no attempt to bury, by several different cats. To be fair they do tend to avoid hard concrete, preferring grass/gravel or just the centre of our bloody doormat. Fuckers.
I'm sure there are lot of lovely cats that do bury, but we don't seem to have any.

OP sonic repellers work on most cats, we use three constantly now. A few are able to ignore the noise, but it's mostly dealt with the problem.
The biggest issue is that they like to poo in the same place once it has their smell, so you'll need to do something to change the smell of your driveway. Tip a bottle of vinegar over it, or sprinkle something strongly scented. I used a nasty perfume I wanted rid of in the summer, but that's no use in the rain now.

That sounds pretty grim! Cats, and probably a lot of other animals are deterred my mint or menthol. Wash it with mouthwash or smear some Vicks about?

OhioOhioOhio · 14/10/2019 10:23

That is gross. I'd sprinkle curry powder everywhere.

I thought about putting a small bit of bleach where the main bit keeps appearing but worried someone will step in it and it will then ruin my carpets.. Same with curry powder

@rhubarb39 won't do anything. If its scent marking.

If you goto pets at home or amazon ect and are convinced it's a cat doing it, they sell I think for about 12 quid, odour killer for getting rid of the scent that has been left so it would deter future pooing in the same area.

Maybe give that a whirl? I used it with a kitten weeing, she'd never use the same spot and stuck to litter after that.

There's also lion poo you can buy but I figured you won't want to add more shit to your drive 😂😂😂

HeadintheiClouds · 15/10/2019 15:54

You can see it appearing on camera but not what’s doing it?! You need a better camera.

rhubarb39 · 15/10/2019 16:45

No the cameras not triggering whatever it is.. Which is v odd when it picks a cat up?!

Rhubarb, followed your other thread.... You really don't need this shit, quite literally.

Perhaps it's your EX's spirit animal.

LipSyncForYourLife · 19/10/2019 22:09

You could pop one out on the drive yourself to deter any territorial poopers. That’ll put the wind up the local wildlife.

Longdistance · 19/10/2019 22:15

Ah, with cameras I thought you meant full cctv. Hmm, I’d say hedgehogs or a bastard who’s kicking their dogs shit into your garden.

We have cctv on our house, it’s amazing what it captures. We had fox cubs chasing and playing on our front garden, they took dds riding boots and were tossing them around. Very comical 🦊 👢 🙂

MoreSchnitzelPlease · 24/10/2019 11:08

There's no way it's hedgehog poo. We have hedgehogs visit our garden every night and they don't leave big piles of poo. Hedgehog poo is tiny and black, and nothing like cat poo. I didn't think I'd be on a thread comparing the two, but there you go.

It is more likely to be a dog or fox. Maybe a neighbour is letting their dog out for a quick wee, and they've decided to use your drive as a toilet. If you car is on the drive each night then that will limit the area the culprit can reach.

Apologies forgot to update.
It's a cat, I finally caught it on the camera.. Now need to figure out the best way to stop it
