I've just seen the cats found in cardboard boxes on FB and I'm crying tears of anger and upset. I don't know how you do it @thecatneuterer but thank you for being there for the ones that need it
Ollie is bemused why I'm clinging on to him and why his fur is wet Blush

OMG. What have I just watched? There really are no words.

Vinorosso74 · 16/01/2019 07:18

What a sick bastard to do that Angry. The behaviour and attitude towards animals of some humans really disgusts me.
They look like lovely cats too. Well done to CHAT and the lady who contacted them.

ScreamingValenta · 16/01/2019 07:26

Sad The poor things looked so bewildered.

Dancingfairydreams · 16/01/2019 09:31

Abosultey vile person. Was raging when I saw the video. Thank goodness they're in good hands now

claragolightly · 16/01/2019 13:33

So relieved they were found, the poor darlings. Watched the video at my desk - big mistake...started to cry. We rescued our girls from CHAT just four weeks ago, such a wonderful centre. Many humans make me sick.

Wolfiefan · 16/01/2019 13:48

Who on earth does that? Those poor cats. Thank God they ended up where they did. If only my two terrible torties weren’t quite so terrible. I’d love a ginger. Or two. Blush

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2019 14:02

So many questions.
Why seal them up in boxes with loads of tape rather than just let them loose IYKWIM?
Unless they were to be picked up by someone?

I really can't get my head around it.

Wolfiefan · 16/01/2019 14:04

I hate to say it but maybe it was bin day. Sad

EachandEveryone · 16/01/2019 15:03

There are no words. Did anyone else go and find their cats to give them a squeeze? I wonder if we will ever find out their story

BlackHillsofDakota · 16/01/2019 18:21

I just watched the video, heartbreaking. Shocking the amount of tape they used. Just thinking about how long it must have taken, getting those cats in the boxes and taping them up is shocking. So pre- meditated.

quietbutdetermined · 16/01/2019 19:57

I was horrified when I watched the video. Can’t believe the levels some stoop to Angry So cruel

thecatneuterer · 16/01/2019 20:45

Do you know what - this particular rescue barely registered with me. Yes I know it wasn't something I had direct involvement with, but that's not why, it's just I'm so very, very used to this sort of thing. I am rarely shocked these days, always appalled and upset of course, but rarely surprised.

Just this week I collected a pair of kittens that had been dumped on the stairwell of a tower block. They were so scared I had to trap them. The really awful thing about that was that they had been there for three days and no one had even fed them, until one particular lady came back from holiday, saw them, fed them and reported them to us. Without her intervention I dread to think what would have happened.

Celia keeps telling me to take photos of my rescues so we can put the stories up but every time I find myself there, faced with the situation, I totally forget! I really must make an effort.

Vinorosso74 · 16/01/2019 20:52

Just goes to show the amount of horrific cases you have to deal with Angry. Thankfully some people do care but it's awful the amount who just don't. They are living creatures FFS!
I debated whether to let DD (nearly 9yo) watch the video. She did see it and suggested the person who abandoned them should go to jail.

Ollivander84 · 16/01/2019 21:04

I just don't get it. I spent more time and care with a cat that I found by the side of the road (died as I arrived), I went out in pjs when a local rescue messaged me, wrapped cat in a blanket, took to the vets, posted on social media because I couldn't stand the thought of the owner not knowing. Not chipped Sad

I couldn't walk past a hungry/neglected/abandoned animal whether it was a cat or a dog or a hamster. Yet my neighbours shut their cat out in all weather because "it was too noisy"
Beautiful Birman cat, howling outside in the driving wind and snow. I brought him in and he slept all night with me for months (I let him back out at around 6am every day Wink)

I saw it. I can’t get my head around how long that would take to use that amount of tape. Initially I thought it was two boxes, but four! my goodness how awful

Rudgie47 · 17/01/2019 18:30

Beyond disgusting as they were left to die, who would do that to their own cats? I hope they get them and prosecute.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 17/01/2019 18:36

Beautiful gingers, hope they get a wonderful loving home.

squee123 · 17/01/2019 18:43

Absolutely shocking. If anyone wants to do something to help and can afford to maybe they could consider making a donation to the Celia Hammond charity? They do amazing work and often struggle to get the funds they need. Unfortunately there are an awful lot of cats in dire need of their help as there seem to be so many terrible people in the world and Celia Hammond, like so many other rescues, are in desperate need of support.

boringlyboring · 17/01/2019 18:49

Those little faces☹️it’s so heartbreaking.

Mummylife2018 · 17/01/2019 18:53

I ordered them something off their Amazon wish list. Poor souls. I want to adopt one but I'm miles away from the Celia Hammond centre :(

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2019 18:55

I think there might be some more pictures soon. Smile

i am going to look at the Amazon wish List too.

EachandEveryone · 17/01/2019 20:05

Is there a link? I cant face reading it again

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2019 20:12

I have just been looking at the Celia Hammond FB page.

MycatsaPirate · 17/01/2019 20:24

CHAT are my charity to support and I send money monthly. I wish I could send more.

We have six gorgeous rescues, three came from rescue centres, 1 was a direct rehoming and two were from the streets. I just can't imagine anyone doing this to a cat.

Vinorosso74 · 18/01/2019 13:23

I see there's an update and some lovely photos on the CHAT Facebook page. They're doing well and need to be neutered and microchipped. Think they'll be off to new homes pretty quickly. That daid hopefully they won't stop people adopting any of the other cats awaiting homes.
