What breed is my cat??

Hi everybody.

I know it’s a long shot, a very long shot, and I’m not asking for an exact answer, but I’ve akways wondered what breed my kitty could be?

If anyone is a real cat enthusiast and has all the knowledge of breeds, it would be interesting to know!
Thankyou Wink

Wolfe said nothing wrong.
Her post was completely fine.

We inherited our cats from dh's parents (his childhood cats). Having never had cats before I thought the vaccines were like childrens and lasted for life. Within a month one of them had caught cat flu and died. It turned out that DMIL & FIL hadn't taken them to a vet for a very long time and so they were unprotected. We had the other cat vaccinated of course but then the area was hit by feline leukemia and four cats in our immediate neighbourhood died. Now I make sure that all our cats have all available vaccinations, even from diseases that aren't common (we were told that the risk of feline leukemia was low).

Sure your cats may be lucky and not come into contact with a carrier, but having your cat die of something you could have protected them from is what is actually horrible.

What an ugly cat!

Sals27 · 24/04/2018 23:20

My cat goes in the garden but doesn't go outside Grin

Nooooo the TAAT has been deleted

SimonBridges · 24/04/2018 23:23

Come on Mrs, she is beautiful.

HJ40 · 24/04/2018 23:24

First time I've ever followed a litter tray thread 🍿

Cataline · 24/04/2018 23:24

Your cat is lovely. It's a shame you felt picked on but you did ask for advice/opinions and Wolfiefan simply gave hers in a fairly reasonable way.
You were rude and aggressive in return.
May I suggest you spend some time browsing Mumsnet to get a feel for it before posting again?

So, the sunburn thing for white-eared cats, is there something that can be used?

Battleax · 24/04/2018 23:26

🐈

MedicinalGin · 24/04/2018 23:26

I’ve never been interested in cats in my life. But this is great. Loving the idea of a Purrka for cats 🙌

NoNoCharlieRascal · 24/04/2018 23:26

Uncool dude. I was just posting on your TAAT when it got taken down.

You owe Wolfe an apology, your kit is clutching it's pearl collar at your rudeness.

SimonBridges · 24/04/2018 23:27

I have a friend who’s white cat had his ears removed due to skin cancer. Poor love.

Wolfiefan · 24/04/2018 23:27

Unfortunately I knew the affected cat nearly 20 years ago and years of sunbathing had done the damage. Worth chatting to a vet. Must be a sunscreen you could safely use.

HirplesWithHaggis · 24/04/2018 23:30

Thank you, Wolfiefan, I'll have a search.

MsGameandWatching · 24/04/2018 23:33

What an ugly cat!

Grin NOW you've got something to get worked up about OP.

Wolfiefan · 24/04/2018 23:33

Mine have all had black ears. Though I worried about a girl with a white nose. But too furry to sunbathe!
I know someone with horses uses sudacrem as a sunscreen but I would worry about them licking it off.
Yes. I worry about my animals. Can you tell?! Blush

tabulahrasa · 24/04/2018 23:42

You get sunscreen specially for cats...

Wolfiefan · 24/04/2018 23:53

Can you? OTC or through vets?
We have black earred beauties now but worth knowing.

fairylightsdown · 24/04/2018 23:54

I was told by my vets that it's ok to use sunscreen for babies on their ears

fairylightsdown · 24/04/2018 23:57

My cats have white ears. I was also told to put some on their white noses....absolutely no chance of that happening (Or staying on for long enough to soak in).

tabulahrasa · 25/04/2018 00:01

“OTC or through vets?“

OTC... online quite a few places.

“I was told by my vets that it's ok to use sunscreen for babies on their ears”

Yeah you need to avoid zinc oxide and something else as well though.

Wolfiefan · 25/04/2018 06:58

Thanks Tabula. Good to know.

MrsCatE · 25/04/2018 09:15

MrsCob - that was uncalled for! Cats are like children - no one has an ugly one Wink
OP - I noticed you had some lovely, cut flowers in a vase. You may not be aware some plants are highly toxic to cats e.g Lillies. Also, by 'rescuing' from unethical breeder perhaps you're enabling her to continue?! Others on this Board may be able to advise on how to report if you feel they're running a kitten farm.
