DCat has eaten a large chunk of birthday sponge cake...do I need to ring energency vet or wait and see if it disagrees with him?! He generally has a stomach of steel and is a renowned food thief (once came home with a pork chop which an unsuspecting neighbour had obviously left out to defrost Blush) but I don’t know if cake is too sugary?!

Yes Twig, they are. This is the first cat I've had that eats cake. Previous cats ate crisps, pork scratchings and curry with naan Hmm

How does he manage to get up there OP? Hope he's ok.

Tiger had a donut once. We had left the pack on the table overnight and in the morning came down to find one nearly all eaten apart from the jam.

@Want2beme - he jumps over the cooker hood (another thing he’s not supposed to do but does anyway!)

Seems on fine form this morning, is currently shouting for his breakfast Grin

My cat loves Victoria sponge, chilli, spaghetti bolognese and cauliflower cheese. He also wolfs down carrots and broccoli. He's 17, so I think your cat will be fine! 😉

Oh, very clever lad OP. Glad he's well and ready for his breakfast. Have just fed mine.

By the way, lovely kitchen.

Mine ate a bit chunk of carrot cake and licked a serious amount of the cream cheese frosting.
