Intact stray Tom just followed DH and DD to and from the shop and is now on his third bowl of food

Don't know what to do here, Big cat seems pretty accepting @thecatneuterer, what should I do for the best.

He has raggedy ears, a big wide face and is skinny as fuck, but seems friendly.

I think probably a tom that was once domesticated, not neutered but has been cast out for whatever reason.

Have left the back door open and he and Big cat are sniffing each-other.

Big cat is a neutered male.

He had his sister as a companion but she was run over a year ago, he's pretty chilled with other cats.

The reason I mentioned his ears is I think he's been a Tom on the streets for a while and has been getting in scraps, as is the wide face which is a feature of mature toms.

Don't know, he's ventured off with big cat, they are sitting on the garden wall, a few feet apart, there is intermittent hissing on both parts but it seems fairly good-natured.

Big's a lover not a fighter.

Stray car may bugger off, thankful for the meal(s), and we may never see him again.

They are both black cats with yellow eyes.

But yes, should Uncle Monty (as he is now known, Big's full name is Captain Big), decide to stick around, he will be welcomed, fed, and have his balls chopped off tout suite.

Congratulations you have another cat. And your plan is the right one. He will need to stay in somewhere for a few days after the ball chopping - so a spare room, or the bathroom, garage - anywhere where he can't get out. And the horrific tom cat smell will wear off after about a week.

My first cat (30 odd years ago) did this. Just appeared one day and moved in. He was also a big proper tom cat. He never sprayed, didn't get into fights (he did eat three tins of cat food a day though ) and was the most affectionate cat I've ever had. He lived with us as a complete tom for several years until we had to have him done because we needed to put him in a cattery.

We had a cat that found us like this. We came home from school one day and found this scrawny scrap of a thing with its head stuck inside an empty can of cat food from our bin. Got him free and fed him and he never left. Once he had some weight on him his fur just grew and grew into this huge gorgeous brown fluff ball. He was the sweetest natured cat ever. So affectionate. He stayed with us for a few years and then disappeared as suddenly as he had arrived
