Thinking ooo, he likes enclosed spaces, he hasn't got a bed that's 'his', he'll love that.
As you can see, he does not.

Before I give up entirely and take it back, any ideas on how I can get him to use it? Tried a piece of my clothing, his toys, gently putting him in.

If not il take it back tomorrow 😁 It's been a week

Mine decided to sleep on top of it instead of in it.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/10/2017 16:55

I discovered that mine were really fussy about textures. If it’s not fluffy/fleece they won’t touch it. Spot the Cat.

Crimsonlake I would find that Girlcat would sleep (or at least clamber) on top of mine if Boycat was in there & she wanted it for herself. As she's much smaller than him, she could still get in comfortably once she'd collapsed the top onto him Grin

cozietoesie · 11/10/2017 19:20

Put it on top of something. Smile

LivingInMidnight · 11/10/2017 20:28

Mine won't get in their new bed either. It looks so comfy that I'm considering asking the company to make me a blanket. I'm going to try shooing. I'm glad I didn't order the tipi because I would have been gutted if they'd ignored it!

I had an igloo like that. My dearly missed last cat went in it about 4 times and one of the current ones likes to jump on it. It looks appealing to me, I don't get it! Had same problem with a wicker one.

Ski37 · 11/10/2017 20:43

I bought my cat a lovely ( expensive ) cat bed that he refused to go near for 4 months. My parents recently said my brother was going to buy a new cat bed so I offered it to them instead as it had never been used.......Elvis then spent the weekend curled up in it as if it was his favourite place on earth. As soon as told my brother it was no longer available my contrary cat abandoned it never to go near it again....... they know 😼

SpadesOfGlory · 11/10/2017 20:53

Ha! If you ever figure it out please pass the secret on to me!

I have the exact same one and my cat has stubbornly refused to look near it and prefers a shabby old £3 Ikea blanket ungrateful brat

Parmaviolets13 · 11/10/2017 21:27

Haha there seems to be a pattern here! Think I may return it. £22 is £22. Mind you, I may look weird saying 'my cat doesn't like it' Grin

Can't get a seat in this house because there are cats on every sofa/chair. Despite having a fucking million cat beds/houses/trees.

I am currently squeezed onto the armchair with a cat refusing to move wedged against my hip. Dp it squashed up to one end of the sofa as there is a cat sprawled across the middle cushion.

Human beds and sofas are much more comfortable apparently. Pic is two of my five hogging the sofa in the conservatory.

cozietoesie · 11/10/2017 21:45

‘Human beds and sofas’? What is this notion? Grin

Ollivander84 · 11/10/2017 21:47

Put it somewhere for "the charity shop/bin"
Make sure to announce this so cat can hear
I did this and mine hasn't moved off his bed since Grin

Kitee · 11/10/2017 21:51

I’ve got that exact one too (and a very similar cat!)

He uses it non stop for a few months then goes off it.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/10/2017 22:39

There was a problem with the courier who delivered the tipi, so the lady that made it put an extra padded blanket in as an apology. (Absolutely no need to do that!) Snorg is now curled up on it at the end of my bed and not next to me for snuggles. SadSad

EachandEveryone · 11/10/2017 22:57

I know that feeling. Their new bed arrived yesterday and now I'm all alone in my bed.

Dolly is on the bottom bunk. It was reduced on Zooplus.

LucyLambstealer · 11/10/2017 23:15

Lol, cats will sleep wherever they damn please. My last cat would rather sleep in a flower pot or old cardboard box than his lovely cat bed. I stopped buying him nice cat furniture because he never used it Grin

LucyLambstealer · 11/10/2017 23:18

Flower pot more comfortable!

sweetkitty · 11/10/2017 23:25

Take it back and leave a cardboard box in its place or put it on your dining room table.

BearFoxBear · 11/10/2017 23:28

Ha I bought that exact same one for my new fluffball and was not interested - I returned it a week later!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/10/2017 23:35

£26 on a fancy water fountain and he point blank refuses to even look at itHmm

EachandEveryone · 12/10/2017 06:35

Have you tried pouring a glass of water into it when he's looking? From a great hight?

LivingInMidnight · 12/10/2017 20:26

toddler same here, it's a lovely blanket! She sent some toys too. She really didn't need to! She was stressed out with the courier problems.

RubbishMantra · 12/10/2017 21:01

I spent fifty on a heated throw for them. They spurn it.

Little M just gets jiggy with his igloo bed. Doesnt actually use it for it's intended purpose.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/10/2017 21:43

Living. She always sends those toys. I’ve ordered loads of stuff from her before. So I knew it wasn’t her fault. But will buy some more of those blankets when I go to the car show in Birmingham.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/10/2017 21:45

I use one of their big cushions as a cushion for myself. Maia is currently sat on it!

LivingInMidnight · 12/10/2017 22:08

toddler noooo don't tell me things that will make me order more stuff! The toys have been very successful and I love free gifts! I'm going to wait until after the cat show to ask about the various things I would like her to make I think as she'll be busy. Or will she be even busier then? Confused

BTW thanks for the recommendation. I'm very impressed, she's done a brilliant job! I really do want a human sized one
