The litter tray

My lovely cat has possibly FIP. We are devastated. It's the little accidental kitten from last year.

I'm in tears. They are running test but there is a strong suspicion of Fip.

I'm so sorry, that's so very sad Soup. It must be so hard to lose such a special little cat. He captured a lot of people's hearts on the thread where you found him.

I'm so sad and sorry to read this Sad
You did the right thing for him and he was well cared for and loved in his short life more than if you hadn't found him. RIP Billy.

Oh no, poor little Billy, poor you! I only read your thread on finding 'her' a few weeks ago. Without you, he'd never have had even a chance at life and what a loving life he's had.

We just thought he’d put on weight but he had the “wet” version where they retain fluid. He was a beautiful boy.

I really hope you are feeling better today.

The vet told us to wait 6 months to let the house clear of the virus and to replace everything cat related. New boy has been healthy & happy for 10 yrs!

Hi @Soupoftheday1975 I know this is very old thread but kitten has suspected FIP and vet said they can’t test for it but sounds like your lovely boy did get tested? Do you know anything about what they did. So sorry for your loss. Hoping something can help shed some light on it!

Soupoftheday1975 I can help you. Our cat was so poorly with FIP we had decided to put him to sleep. Are you in the UK? There is a course of medicine now available for which the company are applying for liscence so the vet can’t offer it yet.

We sourced it and within 8 hours he perked up..
we didn’t dare believe what we were seeing. 12 weeks later he’s totally back to normal and is now under observation for 11 weeks, after when he will be declared “FIP free”. Reoccurrence is extremely rare. It isn’t cheap but Petplan payed out.
