I'm excited!

It's been 3 years since my lovely girlie cat Daisy passed away, and feel it's time we got a new furry family member. The kids really want a cat to love too.

Hoping she likes us and we are a good match.

haha!

Our last girl was called Daisy. I really love flower names for cats..so cute and pretty.

So do you think she looks like a Rosie? My son wants to call her Luna which I also quite like..auugh..so tricky!

Just an update:

Picked Rosie-Cat up today, I think she likes us, here she is chilling out with me on the bed!

The kids don't seem to faze her either which is good.

Just need to get on top of the clawing our carpet now!

On her bed. Get it right OP!
What other surfaces does she have to scratch? Try and prevent access to favourite scratching places?

The look on that face makes it quite clear whose bed it is. (Love the duvet cover and ?ercol sideboard)

DavetheCat2001 · 09/09/2017 17:30

Thanks Toddler, still trying to find a suitable place for the Ercol. It doesn't fit anywhere but I love it!

She's had a go at the carpet under our bed so far and our old sofa. I have got a scratching post but she doesn't seem interested in it. Maybe I should get some catnip for it?

Try one of the flat cardboard scratchers maybe? They are dirt cheap so not much lost if she doesn't take to it, and you can scatter Catnip on them & it sort of sticks into the gaps so tempting them in for ages.

Disclaimer My cats treat the flat cardboard scratcher I got for them as though it's a dangerous trap, to be avoided at all costs. If it's in their way, they practically turn themselves inside out so they don't even touch it when they jump over it.

Thanks for the tip!

She's curled up asleep under the bed now, seeming to prefer being under it to on it!

Should I worry that she is stressed, or is it just her finding herself in her new surroundings?

Let her stay there. One of mine hid for a week. I never saw her. I'm impressed she sat on the bed!

DavetheCat2001 · 09/09/2017 18:07

I was lying on the bed and she was happy to join me.

My DS then came in and wanted to say hello and she darted under the bed!
