Another stray kitten!!!

I've also had a stray/lost kitten turn up on my door step this morning. I've posted on Facebook, knocked round the neighbours and no one can shed any light.

I managed to get her in the car carrier to pop to the vet who thinks she's about 7 weeks old. No chip but in reasonable condition though hissing a lot.

I'm reluctant to call Cats Protection because I think she has a safe and happy place for now (though I'm not sure it could be permanent - Dennis loves the fuss of an only cat) and I would hate for her to go in a cattery.

Any advice is welcome.

Why can't a stray kitten find me?

Peanut butter or veg oil will help to get the gum out. If that doesn't work, snip it out.

Actually thinking about it, I'd avoid peanut butter. Try a small dab of veg oil to get rid of the gum.

DP isn't keen because our cat Dennis is really hissy - he's never been like that and I really don't want his personality to change :(

So difficult to resist. But, you have to think of Dennis. Maybe he'll mellow?

Oh dear, your boy doesn't look happy. I think many cats prefer to be only cats, but learn to tolerate each other even if they never become friends.

I was just taking a picture of little Mildred and the pounced in. It was really funny. He didn't seem to cross at the time. We only found Mils on Saturday so he hasn't had long to adapt.

He's much better already this evening.

Ears are up though. Better than ears down.

And she's totally not bothered by him at all. He's hissing or growling and she bats her new toy in his direction as if to say "ohhh shush and come and play with me!"

Do you think there's hope then????? I'd love a happy ending for Mildred and Dennis.

I hope so!! They've sniffed each other close up without hissing a few times now, which I'm chuffed about.

I think it will just take time but I wish they were best friends now

If she's sitting on his paws, I think we might be close enough to friendly!

My cats all fully accepted kittens within 2 weeks. They love each other now.

AWWW!!! Dennis looks so put upon and resigned to his fate ... he is such a sweetie!

They're getting on a lot better today, it's lovely! I'd take a picture if they sat still but they're too busy playing with each other! 😻
