How to choose between two kittens?

bunnybleu · 12/03/2017 18:25

Just that really! We need to choose between one all black kitten and one black and white. Both lovely, nothing to distinguish between them personality wise, they were nosey, happy being handled etc. As a family (there's five of us) we can't agree which one to have and we can't have both because I'm being sensible!!
I need to confirm tonight which one we'd like.......help!

Stop being sensible.
HTH!

BIWI · 12/03/2017 18:26

Have both!
They'll be happier having company anyway.

shakeyospeare · 12/03/2017 18:29

Both. You'll regret only getting one. Get both. Kittens and cats fill your heart with joy and love and snuggles and get both.

Spadequeen · 12/03/2017 18:30

Get both. Sod being sensible.

Dontactlikeyouknowme · 12/03/2017 18:31

If you really can have only one,get the all black one.

ExplodedCloud · 12/03/2017 18:32

They'll play together. Seriously I'd always have at least 2 cats :)

Thecontentedcat · 12/03/2017 18:32

You need both, they are meant to be together and with you! 😻

YolandiFuckinVisser · 12/03/2017 18:32

Both!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 12/03/2017 18:32

Both. Duh.

What a weird question.

MrsDoylesladder · 12/03/2017 18:32

I have a black and white but was looking for a black cat as they are usually the last to be adopted. I live our black and white - she has really ugly markings and a friendly personality. If I had to be brutal I would pick the one least likely to be adopted by someone else.

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 12/03/2017 18:33

Should be illegal to get only 1!!
Seriously though 2 saves your house being wrecked coz they shred each other instead!! Grin

BIWI · 12/03/2017 19:58

Definitely! I'd never get a singleton. Always have two.

Hassled · 12/03/2017 20:01

Yes, ideally both. But if that's really really not an option then get the black one, because those are the least likely to be adopted apparently. And because then you'll have a mini panther.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/03/2017 20:01

I have a singleton and would like another but it's too late to introduce one now.

May as well get both.

Definitely have both, I have a brother and sister, kittens are good in pairs (if not completely nuts!)

YesItsMeIDontCare · 12/03/2017 20:04

Both is in fact the sensible option.

UptownFlunk · 12/03/2017 20:06

Having both will be easier for you in the long run as they will keep each other company and play with each other when your arms are tired of throwing balls and dangling feathers on sticks. So, both is actually the more sensible option.

YessicaHaircut · 12/03/2017 20:07

Pictures or it didn't happen! Smile

EmmaC78 · 12/03/2017 20:07

I would get both too :)

MrsEvadneCake · 12/03/2017 20:08

Both would be more company for each other if you are out a lot in the day...BOTH

FunkinEll · 12/03/2017 20:10

We were getting a kitten just after new year and ended up getting two. It was the best thing we could have done. They keep each other company, play together and generally make our lives easier as they have each other. If you can afford the double insurance, food and litter then I would absolutely recommend it.

We have a long haired boy and short haired girl.

FunkinEll · 12/03/2017 20:11

This was my thread back in January www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_litter_tray/2820909-Two-kittens-easier-than-one

Willow2017 · 12/03/2017 20:12

Ha ha, save the house getting shredded!!
Many moons ago I was in a house which had that blown vinyl wallpaper everywhere... had 2 kittens, little buggers used to run up the wallpaper Grin
( was only supposed to get one as well but couldnt chose and only reason I didnt take the 3 was that sspca had another person waiting to take one!) Definately get 2 they are so comical to watch together.

justpeachy74 · 12/03/2017 20:13

From very recent experience if at all possible I would say get both.

Our new kitten isn't even here yet and I already regret not getting a pair. It's too late now Sad.
She'll be fine and very much loved but I think it would have been nicer for her to keep a kitty sibling.

If you can only take one I like the pp's logic of getting the least likely adoptee and the idea of a mini black panther Smile
