How to choose between two kittens?

bunnybleu · 12/03/2017 18:25

Just that really! We need to choose between one all black kitten and one black and white. Both lovely, nothing to distinguish between them personality wise, they were nosey, happy being handled etc. As a family (there's five of us) we can't agree which one to have and we can't have both because I'm being sensible!!
I need to confirm tonight which one we'd like.......help!

Oh and don't forget to post a picture of your new master! Grin

khajiit13 · 12/03/2017 20:15

Both. It's unanimous so you must. No excuses.

PiratePointyTits · 12/03/2017 20:16

We had the same dilemma.
Got both. Pair of little buggers beauts.
Love them to bits and they entertain each other.

dnamummy · 12/03/2017 20:16

Another vote for both - they will smooth each other, amuse each other, wear each other out and save you so much hassle, whilst giving you double love. I'm sitting here with my 18 m.o. Brother Siamese hanging off my lap and all three of us are purring!😻😻😊

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 12/03/2017 20:16

Aaaw I vote both too of course, who wouldn't. But if you really can only take one and really can't choose, then do go for the all black. Mind you, I've had both black and black and white and they were all adorable.

dnamummy · 12/03/2017 20:17

Sooth!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 12/03/2017 20:18

Grin both.

We went to the local RSPCA centre in January to "look" for ONE cat. Of course we went back a week later & collected our beautiful pair of sisters Grin.

We definitely only wanted one but I'm so glad we had two. They are only 5 months old & play together all the time. They are so much fun to watch!

wildpoppiesanddaisies · 12/03/2017 20:19

Both!

They'll be much happier!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 12/03/2017 20:20

Here they are just after we collected them.

We also ended up with 2 brothers and they entertain each other and are comical together. Ours are only 4 months old

Both is sensible. They'll be happier and more balanced for it. But, if you can only afford the upkeep for 1, then 1 it is. I adore pure black cats but it turns out that they're often harder to home than other colours / colour combinations, so if it had to be a singleton I'd take the pure black one.

Icequeen01 · 12/03/2017 21:10

Another vote for two here! We have always taken two when we have had kittens from the rescue centre. Here are mine a few weeks after we got them. They were so close and always together. Less so now but they always give each other a good wash when they meet in the hallway!

I got one boy, he was lonely so a few weeks later I went to get a companion. I picked a little black and white girl but the runt (all black) was left. Needless to say I now have 3! And I don't regret it. They are brilliant together.

15 years ago, when we moved in together nowDH and I discussed getting a cat. Note the singular. We waited a year to be fully settled, I got a job and we spoke about kitten again. Then a store manager in a different branch announced that his cat had had a surprise litter and we went from one to two.

14 years later and they still duff each other up, but they are great company for each other and both very different personalities.

If you can only get one, get the solid black.

I want a Kitten
Have both 🐱🐯

EachandEveryone · 12/03/2017 21:26

I have an eightmonth old and i regret everyday not getting her sibling. I could kick myself. Does anyone kniw when it is too late to introduce another?

HemanOrSheRa · 12/03/2017 21:33

Choose between two kittens. Hahahahahaha! Grin. Very funny OP.

kel1493 · 12/03/2017 21:33

I get why people would say both
I got a half Ragdoll kitten 6 years ago and loved him instantly. He was his mums last ever kitten. So glad I got him and he was kept in the family (the cat who had him was my stepdads mums cat, so it was nice that the last kitten was kept in the family).

Toddlerteaplease · 12/03/2017 21:56

Definitely both. Even though my supposedly 'inseparable' sisters are not inseparable. Since you have the outlay for one. One more makes no difference. Mine share a litter tray and feels bowls. (Tried separate trays but they wouldn't use one of them)

That's an impossible decision. Choosing between 2 kittens.
The only option you have to take both.

DramaAlpaca · 12/03/2017 22:04

You can't possibly choose! You have to take both, OP.

Pictures please....!!!

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 12/03/2017 22:11

See I'd never get two together again. My pair never ever been need with us. Many years ago now. Mum then got two together and same, disinterested in humans

She currently has two BUT she got them a month apart and bonded beautifully with no 1, no 2 was kept separate for a couple of days but he's such a cocky git that he confidently strode in and joined up with his sibling. Both of them play like crazy together but love the muv best of alk

littlemissM92 · 12/03/2017 22:14

Rarity75 that's adorable!
I have a 5 month old all black kitten chose him out of 6 kitties it was an easy choice i felt like he chose me.. didn't leave my lap etc

I ADORE him but kind of wish we had got 2 purely for him to have a buddy whilst we are at work but next month he will be allowed outside so that should keep him busy. So if u have to get one pick the all black but if Poss get both x

ClaraLane · 12/03/2017 22:15

Each I don't think it's ever too late to introduce another cat/kitten as long as you do it carefully and make sure they both have a bolthole to run to if they need it. Could you see if any rescues have a kitten around the same age as yours that needs revoking? I had my boy on his own from 5 months until he was 3.5 before I got my girl and they get on really well.
