Having survived two whole days without a cat (so quiet, so tidy) I've just had a text to ask if I can take a 2 year old FIV positive boy. You bet I can!!! I wonder if this will stop being so exciting? I doubt I will have him long, young indoor only cats are like gold dust round here.

I know that originally that was the hope; that he had strayed and that neutering and a bit of tlc would bring him back to the point where he could be rehomed, it sounds as though that might be optimistic.

The cat I'm getting on Wednesday is coming from a home, so there should be no problem.

I suppose he'll have to be pts, if they release he can spread it. He might yet turn a corner.

We shall all wait for your new cat on Wednesday.

In good news I had a new Instant Pot delivered and it came in not one, but two big cardboard boxes, so all ready for the new cat. DH looked at them sitting in the middle of the livingroom and said "they're waiting for the cat aren't they?" so he's trained. Cat is described as "very playful" which I assume means "holy terror" Smile. Am I wrong to take that as a good thing?

He's here. A big, chunky jet black boy. Friendly but hard to get a decent picture. Family pet very reluctantly given up because he was too boisterous for their three very small children. Tears were shed. He will be easy to rehome.
I have news of the wild cat as well, he has been moved to a bigger pen where it's easier to get him used to people. It is in the garden of a dedicated cat whisperer, I think there is still a chance for him.

Phew......

chemenger · 02/03/2017 19:22

Here he is! He is the blackest cat I've ever known.

Oh he's a nice boy. Concerned but courageous. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/03/2017 19:32

How boisterous is he? He has serious cheek pouches going on.

chemenger · 02/03/2017 20:09

Here's a better one. He does have a chubby face, it's mostly fluff! He is still at the scuttling around exploring stage, he's not really playing yet. He's very friendly. His old owner sent him with a big tin packed full of Dreamies which makes me feel sad for her having given up such a lovely boy.

Poor lad. Was he a late neuter?

Vinorosso74 · 02/03/2017 20:44

He's a handsome fella! Lovely coat and look at those fluffy ears.

isseywithcats · 02/03/2017 20:47

hes georgous x

GRW · 02/03/2017 20:51

What a beautiful boy. I love black cats, and can't understand why they are sometimes harder to rehome.

crazycatguy · 02/03/2017 20:57

I foster but we moved into a house that needed renovations so we can't have any until they're done lest they run out an open door.

I really miss feline company!

chemenger · 05/03/2017 21:19

He's coming out of his shell a bit but he has one strange habit. He brought a blanket with him which, frankly, I think he loves a little too much. He hauls it round the house and every evening he basically humps it. He gets it in his mouth, kneads with all four paws and there is a bit of hip action. Lots of purring. Not sure how to sell this to prospective adopters.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/03/2017 21:50

No I think I'd struggle with that one too.

cozietoesie · 05/03/2017 22:35

I'm pretty sure that several posters have cats who are 'humpers'. I don't know how I'd sell that trait either though. Grin

Another update on the wild FIV positive cat that didn't come to me (because I know that we were worried that he would be pts but didn't want to come right out and say it!). He is thriving in the pen he is in now, has made friends with his fosterer, sitting on his knee, purring, running to him when he goes in to feed him and will go up for adoption to a suitable indoor home soon.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2017 19:44

Phew! Neutering works wonders doesn't it.

Sometimes I'd like get to get Dh done. It'd calm him right down.

chemenger · 08/03/2017 21:13

Foster with blanket. He's obsessed.

Oh lord. At least it's washable.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/03/2017 22:11

At least it's his own blanket and not your dressing gown...

cozietoesie · 08/03/2017 22:47

That comment sounds almost as if you were reminiscing, Pink.Grin
