What food is your furry overlord currently scrounging?

Dh has got cheese on toast (with hendersons relish) for lunch. Our own little Attila is sat beside him demanding little titbits. He also waits (not patiently) to lick the butter off his crumpet plate at breakfast. He went bonkers at the smoked salmon and cream cheese. Little tubs.

Oneago snaffled a bluebottle once. Unfortunately, he swallowed it live and then sat there with a puzzled look on his face - attempting to be elegant etc while his throat 'buzzed'. Grin

Kirstyinnorway · 26/12/2016 16:36

The leftover (uncooked) brussel sprouts.

We have two house rabbits Grin

RubbishMantra · 26/12/2016 18:54

I don't think Little M likes their crunchiness, cozie. He wasn't keen on Dreamies until he saw MCat hoovering them up.
Good on Oneago - those blue-bottles are like Ninjas - they sneak in and lay strings of eggs all over the boys' wet food in the summer. Literally within minutes of me putting it down. And they're clever enough to fly out the window when you start waving a swatter about, then sneak back in again the next minute to lay their dizz-gusting eggs on my little princes' food. Angry

Oneago must've had some mad skillz to catch one. They're fast.

cozietoesie · 26/12/2016 19:10

I reckon it was just happenstance. Some must surely drift into an open mouth or snapping jaw! Smile

DorotheaHomeAlone · 26/12/2016 19:12

She is obsessed obsessed by the Christmas ham. Can't get near the fridge!

cozietoesie · 26/12/2016 19:14

What, you can't? Grin

CaptainCallisto · 26/12/2016 19:18

Callisto kitten has just snaffled a chunk of Stilton from the top of my cracker. Now he's gazing imploringly at me for more...

He's only six months old and he's going for anything and everything! Cold cuts of ham and turkey seem the current favourites though Xmas Smile

DorotheaHomeAlone · 26/12/2016 19:18

I can't. She is a menace. Screeching and mewing and alerting others to my scrounging! Grin

lljkk · 26/12/2016 19:56

Fluffbrain has started to get into the teenagers laps at tea time. Then licks the plate clean afterwards. Little git gets up on counters if we turn our backs, too. Always has been a scrounging toerag.

cozietoesie · 26/12/2016 20:19

And in the way of things, I bet the teenagers are aiding and abetting? Grin

Lunde · 26/12/2016 20:24

Yesterday one of mine managed to get a bit of fudge - but looked a bit sick afterwards

So far today she has got her paws on a dropped meatball and some turkey

Her real love is marmite

kelper · 26/12/2016 20:36

I had a cat a few years ago who liked baked potatoes, squeezy cheese and cooked bacon.
Don't have a cat now 😭 but do have a stupid dog who chews her food very delicately, there is no swallowing whole done here 🙄

RubbishMantra · 26/12/2016 21:32

I've had to feed them an additional supper, on account of me eating late and making kitchen noises.

It is Christmas, after all, and I don't begrudge the little furry fuckers sweetpeas. Grin

RubbishMantra · 26/12/2016 21:35

*...but how did they learn the trick of making humans feel The Guilt?

Mistykit · 26/12/2016 22:05

One is currently licking a pear (it's her treat... she will harass and bat it out of your hand if the pleading eyes don't work)

Madshiplollipop · 26/12/2016 22:12

Never give my overlord human food. Ever. Stops the scrounging. In every other meaningful respect the overlord gets her way.

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/12/2016 22:39

He has been offered left over suckling pig and sausage meat stuffing. They have been rejected. He wants his one flavour of one brand of dry food.

LanaorAna1 · 26/12/2016 22:44

I've just experimented with James wellbeloved and a new flavour of Royal Canin called 'Exigeant'. Which I think means spoilt.

Only the best for little Mr C, who is currently flat out after another day of ham funtimez.

RubbishMantra · 26/12/2016 23:00

Blue-bottles don't drift cozie. They zoom. Oneago definitely had Mad Skillz. Grin

Little M's having a half-hearted bulldozer tantrum, because I attempted to put him to bed, when he was practically falling over sitting down. Little lad's over-tired.

hollinhurst84 · 26/12/2016 23:06

Weeds GrinGrin

Ollie slept the whole night last night. I was in bed on my side and he crawled under the duvet, shoved his head on my pillow and his paw over my arm so I was spooning him Hmm and slept for 9hrs straight through

NickMyLipple · 26/12/2016 23:21

Dennis has been a nightmare! He's learnt in the last week how to get up on the kitchen side. He spends most his time in the sink playing with the chain for the plug however he's also helped himself to a slice of bread and a tortilla wrap, as well as a 6 pack of cat stick treat things and a bag of fake cheese flavoured dreamies. He's had a little nibble of so much stuff this Christmas, and seems to particularly like twiglets and ham...

But his favourite bit of the whole festive season is playing with ribbon. I could basically do no wrapping!

On another note, I though cats couldn't have cheese because they were lactose intolerant?? If this is not true, I'll try him with a bit!!

hollinhurst84 · 26/12/2016 23:32

Some tolerate it better than others. Mine is fine (and adores!) cheese

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2016 09:38

Cheese is fermented milk so the lactose has mainly been converted to lactic acid.

DragonNoodleCake · 27/12/2016 09:53

Jaffa - is loving the leftover turkey bits

ILoveDolly · 28/12/2016 16:19

My cat was very happy with all the Turkey on offer this week. Plus it goes mental for olives.
