Whinging cat

I'm posting to vent! Ollie whined last night because he was shut out the bedroom (no other option) so all night I had crying. He ripped part of the carpet too. I got woken up after 2hrs sleep by him howling again. All day he has done NOTHING but whinge at me. I fell asleep on the sofa and he woke me up by crying at top volume and jumping on my head. Thought I would relax and watch some tv but all I have is whinge. Whinge. Whinge
ARGH

He can come and live with me. I had snorting and sneezing cats climbing all over me and sitting on my head. (Snorg has another cold)

Oh,we just gave up and now Pucinni sleeps at the end of the bed on my pillow

Now he's whining because he's hungry but not for "that" food (that food being the one on his plate. Obviously)

He's punishing you

I have subtitles on the TV so I can actually follow what's going on

I said "bloody cat" the other night when he day on my head and woke me up and dh said "Shhhh, you'll hurt his feelings!"

He was completely serious

I have shouted at him today and then felt bad, I just wanted 5 minutes silence
It's like having a whiny toddler trailing after me
He's gone to eat now that he's had a cuddle

He needs to keep up his strength for tonight's yowling

Oh spoke to soon. He's just gone to complain about his food, not to actually eat it

Why did you have to shut him out? (A Siamese who had been shut out for a malfeasance in breach of a rule would - broadly - just sit and brood on their particular sin. Shutting them out for an invalid reason, though, is just asking for it. They'll go on...and on.....and on..... and...... at the sheer injustice of it all. ) And they won't give up!

In future, let him in. Being next to your person is of paramount importance to a bonded cat.

For now, ignore his carry-on. Back to routine is vital. (If you're Topcat that is. )

He kept whining to use his tray/eat/drink and I couldn't sleep with the bedroom door open as someone tried to get in the house last night
So after I got up three times to let him out the bedroom door I just shut him out (he does sleep in the spare room quite a lot)

Maybe he was frightened, poor love?

He's just being... Contrary. Wants out, then hurtles back in a minute later screeching. Wants food. Not that food. Wants cuddles. But human isn't allowed to move an inch

Sadly he's very bonded and neurotic needy and on meds to help that
Also he likes to be vocal in how much he annoys loves his human

Bring his tray and feeding station into the bedroom. (If only for the duration.)

Yes, they were here within 8 minutes and v reassuring. It was about 3.40am or so, I was still awake and heard noises, Ollie froze then legged it to the door and I saw the door handle moving (it moves a bit even when locked)
I suspect fatty wants out, he keeps going to the window and looking at me but that is not happening!

Maybe he picked up that you were unsettled and that made him unsettled as well.

Unfortunately it's very common this time of year to have break ins looking to steal Christmas presents. Ollie was probably doing security patrols. Sounds as if your locks are good if they didn't get in, but it is very unnerving

Yeah he guards me at night! He did sleep all night through last night with his head on my pillow

I had Mr C wedged into my armpit all last night. He's really getting into the duvet, it's up to his neck now, little head poking out, whistly snoring.

Thing is, H if they've decided you're paying attention to them, game over. I can't even read a book in bed anymore.

Anyway, main point - so sorry about your break in. Hope it was too nerve-stimulating - are you feeling OK? At least now they've had a go they won't be coming back, so no further stress.

Ollie is completely silent because I got him some posh grain free dry biscuits as a treat. He's fed wet food + raw so dry food is like McDonald's to him - I can hear him chirruping and crunching

But he'll never eat the wet again.....What have you done????

MCat likes to have a whinge. When I'm getting his food ready, he emits a sort of whiny, "NoOOOWW?!?" or if it's late, "WheEERRE?!"

Shit, hope you're now feeling better about the attempted break-in, hollinhurst. Do you have neighbours close by? Burglars usually keep office hours, it's a rare one that goes "creeping". Perhaps install a motion activated light?
