Blood in cat poo

Taken my little girl to the vet because when i woke this morning she had blood in her poo and she did it again later and was meowing as though she was in discomfort. They have given her an anti-sickness and antibiotic injections and to bring her back tomorrow for a check-up. She is nearly 2. Really worried. How do I know if she has eaten something poisonous?

Scotland has new legislation coming in on (I think) 31.12.2016 which will require all airguns to be licensed. The country has already had a successful gun amnesty - where more than air guns were surrendered - and is now in a 6 month 'lead-up' registration and licensing period.

I would imagine that England and Wales could follow suit fairly quickly if the introduction proves successful in Scotland and there seemed to be an appetite for such controls. Bearing in mind also that the matter concerns more than cats and other pets, people may wish to support relevant campaigns and petitions. Perhaps another poster might provide the relevant links for those?

How did the morning visit go?

Is she feeling sorry for herself? Smile

She was lovely, purring when she saw us. Vets happy with her progress.
Unfortunately, we are away on holiday for 2 weeks and so she will go straight to cattery for recuperation. We will keep in contact with them by e-mail and phone. Bless her, I hope it doesn't change her personality.

Bless her. It will be hard for you being away from her but I wonder if it might be good for her to be in a more confined, less stimulating environment for her recovery?

cozietoesie · 24/07/2016 12:59

I'm pleased she's doing well. Smile

Exactly right Danger, that's what the vet said.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support, it has been much appreciated.

Just caught up with this thread- so glad she is doing well. I can't imagine how people can do these thingsSad. As others have said , convalescence somewhere quiet and without stimuli may be just what she needs. Try to enjoy your holiday .Smile

I've been lurking with fingers crossed for your poor kitty, it sounds as though she is getting great care and the cattery is probably a very good place for her to convalesce.

Just an update: picked my girl up from the cattery and she has been very well looked after. She has had a checkup whilst we were away and they are very pleased, no pain, eating well and scar has healed beautifully.
