Heard cat shouting so tramped outside in pjs to find it wasn't Ollie but sounded identical! Found black cat and Ollie sat together with black cat shouting. Ollie could get away but didn't
They moved and I got this video, cat near me is not mine Hmm despite the near identical noise
Aggression?
I suspect Ollie has residual "stuff" as neutered v late. But despite the noise they were quite happily sat together Confused and it's identical to Ollie's calling noise

video has sound on

If 'The Intruder' cedes dominance to Ollie, then O has got it cracked and he should be fine after that. (Forbye he might swagger a bit when he walks. Grin)

I think Ollie being neutered late has left a little bit of the Tom in there Wink
Oh I thought of you in pets at home Grin they have some country hunter treats, you can feed as treats or crumble them or add water to make into food. Ollie is wolfing them down and they're just freeze dried meat

"I think Ollie being neutered late has left a little bit of the Tom in there"

I did a bit of research surfing the net on this a while back because I was interested in the 'side effects' of late neutering. I think it's less physically obvious on Olli actually - ArchCat has these huge broad cheeks, muscular shoulders and virtually no neck. The three traits that late neutered males often retain are 1. marking their territory with urine, 2. fighting other cats, especially males, and 3. roaming. Thankfully we don't have issues with the first and third of these, but ArchCat can't stop being a scrapper, it seems (he came to us from the shelter with several nicks in his ears already). Looks like Olli might have the same tendency.

I agree with Cozie - the two of them are going to have it out at some point so they can work out the dominance among themselves. A full-on scrap is pretty horrible to witness. Ideally after that they'd each work out when the other is doing their evening patrol and learn to avoid each other directly (I think there was a BBC programme on cat behaviour that called this technique 'time sharing').

Yeah he is quite teeny, about 4kg and quite a kitten looking cat
We have just had words after he jumped on the kitchen worktop and sat on the hob. Not. Allowed

Exert your will on him! Grin You know my view which is that he has Siamese/oriental in him - and you can't let those blighters away with anything. Grin

Ollie has spotted intruder cat and done his wiggly bum run over to the estate. Not yet back Hmm

'Intruder cat' being on what he - clearly mistakenly - thought was his own territory? Grin

hollinhurst84 · 14/06/2016 13:58

Apparently so. Ollie has vanished Hmm and he has exactly 45 mins before I need to leave otherwise he's locked out

Sounds just like my Siamese boys - Spartans manques every one.

( You know.

'Leonidas - just why did you decide to defend Thermopylae against a quarter of a million Persians, all armed to the teeth?

Yay! Because they were there! Yay! Bring me my spears! Yay! Fight!!!'

Sometimes, it becomes quite wearisome.

hollinhurst84 · 14/06/2016 14:09

He's just come gallivanting in shouting at me to open the door and is covered in cobwebs ConfusedConfused
I'm convinced he's part oriental

I agree, actually. That early photo of him? He has the legs for it.

hollinhurst84 · 14/06/2016 14:23

Mr leggy cat? He has surprisingly big paws too
Can't believe how black he is now compared to these

Update. Am shaking dreamies to get Ollie in and find intruder cat behind me on its back legs like some meerkat. It wants a treat. I don't give it one. So it wrapped both its paws around my leg to snatch at me ShockShock
Still haven't got Ollie in but intruder is now firmly in position outside back door. Helpful
