90% of my house is tiled or wooden floor, so why does my cat ALWAYS choose to vomit on the rug?

Why? Just why?
And it's one of those long fringe type ruffley rugs, so the vomit goes right down into it and I have to pick out the lumps before I can wash it.

Of all the more convenient areas he could vomit, he always chooses the bloody rug.

It's because cats are nasty and horrid, I hate them

But they have such a way of manipulating us by being ultra cute. Especially when they find strange positions to sleep in. How can you possibly hate them!?

I have perfected the art of swooping in with a sheet of kitchen roll when I hear the customary retching and catch it just in time. I'm a faithful slave to his every feline whim and I love him!

Yes why is that?

DH was most unimpressed when he stood in vomit left by one of ours this morning, a nice pile at the top of the stairs, just in the right place for standing in if you are half asleep and going to see to a crying toddler who has just woken up.

He usually does it when I'm out and I come home to it, half dried in. I'd love to be able to swoop in with kitchen roll and catch it

I've stepped in it once too, it's a shock when you're not expecting it!

Sometimes I miss a bit of dried up chunder usually when I've got no shoes on - biscuits make it particularly solid!

We have almost no carpet in the house. We have one rug that covers 5% of the space - and the dog vomits on that EVERY SINGLE TIME.

It's not just cats.

To be honest the children tend to choose the rug in their room to vomit on too

Do you all have good taste in rugs? Maybe the cats are trying to tell you something.

I've just noticed some dried cat sick on the ear of my bunny rabbit cushion - it blended in beautifully and I have no idea how to get rid!

Talking of Cat sick on bunny ear. I have a lovely plush Santa that I put out at Christmas and my Cat managed to sick on his boot.

Yeah, I do t think my cat has forgotten that they used to be worshipped. He's very spoilt!

Actually, he might be telling me something about the rug, he also peed on it the day after we got it. He wasn't very impressed that we renewed his scratched up, cat hair covered old rug.

Luckily, my own old boy is rarely sick but when he is, he seems to want to upchuck on the cracks between the floorboards. (We have old, polished, wooden floors.)

Just as well that I can recognise the 'plumbing noises' that precede it from 50 ft. All rooms have a newspaper to hand just in case. I make it to most events.

They need something to dig their claws into while vomiting else the force of the sick would push them backwards.

You might be right, I chuck ours in the shower cubicle to be sick and he does move back as he's doing it.

Because it is grass like and he loves you ;)

Because if he was sick on a wooden floor there is a risk of splash back?

Our ddog was once sick on the other ddog - she was seriously not impressed!
