He's mine, all mine and I pick him up on Thursday! Although my 12 year old daughter is going to name him, please not Fluffy, I'm open to suggestions to tempt her with Grin

I know. That's why I apologised - it was just a moment of madness. Grin

Cooper is a great name. Smile

BirthdayBetty · 01/04/2016 08:31

He's very cute Smile

MiffleTheIntrovert · 01/04/2016 09:26

Gorgeous! Happy Birthday your DD, and Cooper.

I'll regret asking this no doubt but what's the other meaning of Fluffer?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2016 12:27

Here you go, Miffle www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fluffer

Wonderful to see Cooper so obviously happy at home with you, and I love the name you picked

More pictures, please? Grin Wink

cozietoesie · 01/04/2016 12:52

Look on the bright side, Miffle. You could have called a cat that inadvertently and have had to subsequently tell DCs why the name had to be changed.Grin

MiffleTheIntrovert · 01/04/2016 14:26

Woah. Well that puts a whole new slant on the FluffyMcFluffFace name ShockShock

Cozie my DC probably would look at me patronisingly and explain it to me - they are teens and use all sorts of probably rude words I don't know!

SugarDiabetes · 01/04/2016 15:25

Very much at home

DH hates cats. He is the reason it's taken us so long fifteen fucking years to get a cat.

This is what I found when I got up this morning!

Cooper the catalytic "converter"

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2016 16:04

Ah yes - funny how they always know exactly which one they've got to work on Wink

You'll know all is lost when you catch him preparing little treats for Cooper, with silly excuses like "it would only have got thrown away", "I didn't think that piece of fillet/steak/whatever was big enough to do much with" and so on ...

BagelGoesWalking · 01/04/2016 16:06

Cooper is a great name - love it! So glad your DD is so happy.

But, I MUST know, how did you manage to persuade your DH? I have a similar problem....

BagelGoesWalking · 01/04/2016 16:06

Wow, I have led a sheltered life... just clicked on the dictionary link to fluffer Blush

JanetWeb2812 · 01/04/2016 17:58

Will Cooper grow up to be a Tommy, an Alice or an 'Enry?

SugarDiabetes · 01/04/2016 18:04

Janet he's just going to make barrels.

Bagel when we moved into our house, one of the rooms had an old wooden floor which I loved and DH hated. I wanted to sand it; he wanted to put laminate down.
In the end I agreed to laminate it because I felt that my love for the original floor was not as strong as his hate for it, iyswim.

So I worked on the same principle for a cat - is your dislike of the idea of a cat greater than DD's desire for one? Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2016 18:05

I didn't know what a Fluffer was until about 10 years ago. Sheltered life here too.

Does your dh call himself dad to the cat?. Dh does but denies it afterwards.

Sunnybitch · 01/04/2016 18:15

I would of had to call him tuft coz of the little tuffs of hair coming out from his ears Grin

stumblymonkey · 01/04/2016 18:27

What a handsome cat!!!

Just popping in to add to the conversation about calling a cat 'Fluffer'..... I very almost adopted a cat who's owner had named it 'Gonad'.

I wasn't going to change his name because the idea of the vet calling for 'Gonad' was too funny.....but someone adopted him before I had chance Sad

cozietoesie · 01/04/2016 18:34

I have this vision of a few cats throughout the UK being called by words that DC have heard being used and 'liked the sound of'. And parents doing their level best to alter things. (And sometimes failing!)

Grin
BirthdayBetty · 01/04/2016 18:56

Ds wanted to name one of our Toms Asbo a few years back, we settled on Bob Grin

cozietoesie · 01/04/2016 19:03

Now that's straightforward, Betty. There actually is a cat on here called ASBO. Grin

On the board at any rate. Wink

LowDudgeon · 01/04/2016 19:27

Cooper is soooo lovely & you all look and sound so happy Smile

it's a fab name too, how did you arrive at it?

(I am seriously tempted by the name Pushkin though. My youngest kitten remains unnamed at nearly 10 months old & he's huge, calling him
Kitten at this stage is ridiculous...)

SugarDiabetes · 01/04/2016 19:36

Low we just kept throwing names into the ring! We realised that we quite liked 'tradesmen' names, as Miller, Tailor and Tanner came up! DH and I liked 'grandad' names - Stanley, Frank, Ernie - but DD narrowed it down in the end by calling him a few names and seeing what he responded to.

Cooper is gorgeous!!!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2016 19:51

are you bored yet?!

Absolutely not!! Grin

Is that a cat tower he's sitting on? Clearly he's being spoiled already if so, though they're a great thing with huge amounts of play value

You do realise that responding to his name will soon dry up, don't you? Unless it suits him, that is ... Wink
