Weaning cat off Felix onto natures menu country hunter

Anyone with any advice my cat seems pretty much addicted to Felix. I've researched cat food and with help from threads on here have decided to use natures menu country hunter. They advise giving the cat 2 bowls one with the Felix and one with some country hunter and to take it slowly until he starts eating the country hunter. Anyone have any idea why they don't advise just mixing it in with the Felix and gradually increasing the amount? Should have asked them on the phone and now can't get through to them.

Also has anyone successfully got their cat off Felix onto a better quality food?

Seniorboy has now tried and approved all the four flavours I bought. Empty bowls in fact. (He has to have them mixed with his meds but they smell quite flavoursome anyway.)

He's actually quite perky tonight as well.
